Javon Ringer (Former RB Michigan St.)

When Javon gets the grade and becomes a part of the Buckeye Team, he is going to have one heck of a Offensive line protecting him. Like Boone, Bemoll,
Cordle, and possibly Taz Wilson and Dan Doering. Now thats a crew any runningback would want opening holes for them !!! I'll bet he could walk thru holes and gain 100 yards a game with that kind of crew.
Just work on your knee and get your strength back and whew you got alot of promise. Take care.

'SI' strikes again
By Marc Pendleton
Dayton Daily News

We're not saying the dreaded Sports Illustrated cover jinx was Javon Ringer's undoing. But we're not ruling out its wayward cousin, either.

Ringer, Chaminade-Julienne's super senior running back, was among last week's SI Faces in the Crowd feature. Ringer's totals were up to date through seven games: 189 rushes for 1,763 yards and 20 touchdowns. What wasn't included was the fact Ringer suffered a season-ending ACL knee injury that fateful seventh game and is lost for the season.

Despite the injury, the uncommitted Ringer remains a constant Web site and Internet chat room instant-impact theme. That'll only heat up as Ohio State's offensively challenged season plays out.

C-J could use its own dose of mojo magic Friday at Cincinnati Elder's Purple Pit.

Buckskin86/Bucknutty,
Now that alot of midterms and SAT's are coming in, do you think we'll see some kind of movement in form of an offer or is this just something we'll have to wait and see ?? Maybe we won't know until feb. 6th 2005 ??

An offer to Ringer may have been coming after tOSU was convinced that he would qualify but now they may want to see how his injury heals.

It is interesting that J. Stew was offered about the same time Ringer got hurt. It could just be concidence or maybe it is tied to Ringer's status. As you say, "we'll just have to wait and see."

I was thinking the same thing. Sure it might be purely coincidental but the timing does seem to fit. In this day and age having an ACL tear or having it slip off the bone, and I've seen it written both ways about Ringer, is not career threatening in the least. Frank Gore has had ACL surgery on both knees and looks fine for the Canes. I'd like to think Ringer still gets an offer as long as he makes the grade.

As you said BuckNutty, Frank Gore did just fine after his knees had surgery on them. I sure hope that Javon gets better, does whatever he has to do to impress the OSU coaches and then breaks out at OSU on the field.

Remember the staff offered Jon Skinner after he had ACL surgery and he wasn't 100% at the time. Now it might be different since Ringer is a RB but it's not like the staff won't take a chance on a kid who has had a prior injury. I'd bring up Dajuan Morgan but that would just be too painful. :(
