I figured he will need his own thread with all the fines that he is accumulating.

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Steelers linebacker James Harrison has been fined $20,000 for a late hit on Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Harrison has now been fined three times by the NFL this season for a total of $100,000. The hit on Brees came in Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints.

He was previously fined $75,000 for his helmet hit Oct. 17 on Browns wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, a penalty handed out during the week the NFL adopted its tougher stance on hits to the head and neck.

Harrison also was fined $5,000 for a hard hit on Titans quarterback Vince Young on Sept. 19.

The latest fine was given to Harrison two days after he met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss the NFL's stricter policy. Afterward, Harrison termed Tuesday's meeting "semi-productive."

Steelers all-pro OLB James Harrison is leveling more nasty hits ... only this time they're the figurative kind, and he's teeing off on opponents while mixing in some not-so-friendly fire on QB Ben Roethlisberger.

"My rep is James Harrison, mean son of a bitch who loves hitting the hell out of people," he says. "But up until last year, there was no word of me being dirty -- till Roger Goodell, who's a crook and a puppet, said I was the dirtiest player in the league. If that man was on fire and I had to piss to put him out, I wouldn't do it. I hate him and will never respect him."

"I get dinged about three times a year and don't know where I am for a little minute. But unless I'm asleep, you're not getting me out of the game, and most guys feel the same way," says Harrison. "If a guy has a choice of hitting me high or low, hit me in the head and I'll pay your fine. Just don't hit me in the knee, 'cause that's life-threatening. How'm I going to feed my family if I can't run?"

I grew up extremely close to his family. His temperment is mild compared to Mama Harrison. Hell, mild compared to 90% of his family. He's the quiet one. (Ironic, no?)

Yes, you're correct. It's not lethal; however, if you look at his reasoning and his actual intent, he's actually spot on. The guy was never going to go on to be a professor - he's chosen a path that is more dependent on his knees than his well-functioning brain.

Is he wrong to prefer a serious concussion to a sprained knee? In my opinion, not at all. As a football player, you have 6 productive years if you're lucky. And after that, the jig's up. You better pray you spent/saved wisely because that's all you're going to get for the rest of your life. You can tough out your remaining 3 years with serious migraines, but you can't tough out poor knees for your remaining 3 years.

What he said is quite astute, if not poorly worded.

Calling out the commish...

is one thing, and probably most the players in the league agree....

But calling your own team out in puplic like this? Don't want him on my team.... It wasn't even right after the loss where you can blame the heat of the moment for it. There is a time and place for it, that being in the locker room if you really think its needed. I can't think his coaches, owner, or the guys on the team are liking him today...

I am sure the commish will be taking another chunk out of that first check he gets when the show starts again, not only the comments but the picture I saw has him with two guns?
