Also there's a big difference in giving a full evaluation and here take a look at these scans...

also, we're assuming its about the knee.. it might not be.

We've got Andrews' opinion 3rd of 4th hand, which may or may not be 100% accurate. We also don't know to what extent Andrews' evaluated the knee. We also don't know that the knee is in fact, the issue. Andrews' cannot comment, neither can tOSU medical staff.

To me, it's laughable to think that if there was going to be a player cut for numbers reasons, that they would pick a 4-star, heavily recruited kid who hasn't even gone through a full speed practice yet. They don't have to be at 85 until fall, so why would they ditch a kid now instead of letting things play out? Also love the insinuation that the medical staff would be willing to file a fraudulent report to help the football coach out of a potentially tight spot....

I also love the accusation that tOSU is hurting the kid by NOT allowing him to risk permanent damage to his leg.

I'm going to take a step back and wait to see how this plays out before passing any kind of judgment.......

For clarity, there has not been ONE word from Andrews, per se !!!!! not 3rd hand.. not 4th hand.. he is not permitted to say anything

Yes, and depending on what he says, it could carry significant liability / damages is my guess. We will not hear from anyone on this unless it's coming from or approved by the young man. I wouldn't even trust "good sources" on this given the HIPPA and liability considerations.

This case seems odd. Then you have the "gray shirt" rumor and another recruit not qualifying academically. It just seems too coincidental that this happend and now we are at 85.

I'm curious who is grey shirting and did they know they were grey shirting when they signed their LOI. Also, which kid isn't going to be here due to academics. It leaves somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth but it is also fun to win national titles.

we are at 85 now. However, it would not be a complete surprise to me if we ended up at 84 or 83 by the deadline, so from that perspective, it is only news now because we have arrived at where we needed to be (3 months early)

this is also the same james andrews that said RG3 was perfectly fine to stay in a playoff game two years ago, and his knee was shredded. the guy's opinion, or whatever 3rd hand interpretation of it there is, is certainly not infallible.

what did urban say toward the end of the year? we dont have enough healthy players...if we had to practice once more time we would be going starters vs starters...something like that....he almost ran out of bodies last year...
i think they are trying to be proactive....because this happens every year...you may have 85 kids on scholly, but last year it seemed like a lot guys were out for the year...so its more like 70...with injuries throughout the season...

i hope we can see jamel play in college and get a free education no matter where he plays...and i hope his knee recovers the best it can...

I care. I believe most fans care about roster manipulation and oversigning; and would prefer it not to take place at their school.

If someone like Liam McCullough (who said on Signing Day that he did not have to grayshirt) ends up grayshirting, then we know we oversigned. And that would make it very difficult for me to give the staff the benefit of the doubt on cases like Jamel Dean.

Now some might be ok with this and view the grayshirt as an isolated issue with a player who accepts it. That's fine. I'm not personally ok with it because it's a very slippery slope.
