Jameis Winston (QB Browns)

This is really just like PSU 2.0. The charges aren't as bad, but the corruption of the city and the athletic department running the school are right on track. I'm sure this delay will be noted by the US DOE. Even if it was agreed upon by both parties, the University was in no place to postpone the hearing, they are already about 20 months late by the feds standards.
Difference is, ped aggy actually tried to hide their abhorrent behavior. FSU is flouting it and thumbing their nose at everybody calling them on their bullshit. Hell, Jimbo is all but calling Jameis a saint and has actually used the words "witch hunt." If there is any justice in this world, everybody involved will fry on some level. But I think we all know better...

FSU was one of the dirtiest programs in CFB during the 90's. They were pretty close to 80's Oklahoma at times under good ol' Bobbah. The only thing that has stopped them from a 2+ decade reign of terror is that Bobbah held on about 8 years too long and made them irrelevant for the better part of the 2000's. FSU is exhibit-A for rogue programs in collegiate athletics. And they're so arrogant, they don't even try to keep their disgusting behavior on the down low.

Yeah, but allegedly Jimbo does run a tight ship down there. Allegedly.

Now that you mention it, not only does Jimbo insist that Jameis is a saint, but many FSU fans refer to him as "Jameis Christ":

Clearly, Ped State isn't the only Collegiate Football Cult.

Obviously the people in Tallahassee go to a different church than those in Gainesville:

Regardless with so many new Christs, northern Florida must be the "HOLY LAND" of the New World.

Just infuckingcredible. While Jimbo may not rot in hell over this, JW will be on JoePed's left... Clearly, the spot on the right is taken.

Then again, the Catholics covering up rape that lead to a suicide may trump the left hand side slot and Jameis may have to just take minion status.

Somalia comes to mind. The FSU fanbase would love to re-enact this incident.

It is continually amazing to me, as my tally of years pile up, that a species as in-fucking-sane as ours has manged to survive on this ragged little planet for this long.

It would be fascinating/horrifying to actually know what happened in our dim past that caused us to collectively lose our bloody minds.

edit: That said, on reflection it's really not the type of link I'd expect to stumble across in a thread devoted to football. And given that it was the first thing I thought about when I woke up this morning, I really wish I hadn't.

What's sad is that we have victim blaming that goes on with this football program, fan base, and tally PD. But hey, its all they have in hicktown.

Jameis Winston’s disciplinary hearing rescheduled (again) for Dec. 2

According to Rachel Axon of USA Today, the hearing has been pushed back another 24 hours, to Dec. 2.

It’s all part of a stall game by Winston’s attorney David Cornwell to delay a verdict until his client is no longer a Seminole.

As Axon writes: “(Former Florida Supreme Court Justice Michael) Harding has 10 class or exam days following the completion of the hearing to submit his decision. With winter break running from Dec. 13 to Jan. 6, that could mean a decision of whether Winston is responsible or not might not come until the Seminoles are in the College Football Playoff.”
