Jahsen Wint and Amir Riep FOUND NOT GUILTY

They broke my code of conduct . But I have high standards. That doesn’t make them guilty of a crime. I’ll wait till Day or the University makes comment which may not be anytime soon because it’s a criminal felony charge not a civil matter,

I think they're gone (and should be) regardless. Gang banging this girl and then making the video is enough regardless of how their trial plays out. Again, they have a right to due process and a trial from the government. They have a right to all of jack shit from Ohio State University.

Agree. They would have been dismissed by me.

And unless the facts turn out completely different from what they appear to be, which is possible but I think highly unlikely, they will be. While justice is the top priority here, Day also needs to think of the program as a whole and ejecting them immediately may not go over well with current players, recruits, or their families, especially if things end up not being as they appear to be. Immediate suspension is the right call and expulsion can come when more is known.

this would obviously change my stance 100%. All I heard was a video exists, in which case it could go either way.

If the video is legit (which I believe it is), I don't see how the video will at all go "either way." The best thing that girl did was appear and talk in the video. In the Air Force, part of our training is kidnapping. It's always advised to appear in videos, if just to show proof of life and occpancy. She had no clue what would happen next, so she would be willing to say whatever she needed to keep her captors happy and remain alive. Whatever her answer is or isn't, it will be skewed because she was speaking under extreme durress and terror.

What a mess and prayers for all involved.

From the young lady’s perspective, I hope that she’ll be OK. I cannot even begin to imagine...

From tOSU / and program’s perspective, my hopes are that they handle this exactly by the book. Whoever first was made aware, that their immediate action, assuming a mandatory reporter in this case, properly escalated the information post haste.

Ultimately, I think that this an issue that will be dealt with at the University level as opposed to the program level. Provided that the information was in Day’s hands prior to the University acting, my hopes are that his actions were immediate while the University sorted through process. Day’s process is simple, escalate to AD and immediately suspend from all activities and facilities in one move... and then wait for the University to sort it out.

While this is a complete disaster for everyone involved, it could be worse for even more if protocol was not followed.

Just read a story from the cincy paper saying the video was recorded after the sex/rape. According to that article the victim was crying, but the video did not show her face. Evidently, she asked as she was crying if she needed to show her face as he asked her to say it was consensual. He told her no she didn't need to show her face and was laughing at her.

If that article is correct and accurate, these bastards have embarrassed OSU, their families, themselves, and more importantly, devastated a young lady and they need to get what is coming their way. Pathetic POS that they are. Prayers for the young woman,.
