at fucking OSU-Lima. I'm a fucking Eagle, I'm at well above a 3 point, I got a 26 on the ACT (which is in the 85th percentile of OSU students according to their website), I am taking AP classes, I got my application in by the early deadline, my essays were kick-ass, and I still only got into to OSU fucking Lima!!!!!!

I don't know what figures you were looking at, but the average ACT for last year's freshman class was 26.40. Average class rank was 87th percentile. Not sure about average gpa. I received an e-mail that said applications are up 38% this year, so it seems as the larger applicant pool has really pushed up admissions requirements.

That's the plan. I'm thinking I might switch to Mansfield or Newark though;Lima's too small and I never really thought about my second choice because I didn't think I'd need it.

The avg. ACT of this year's incoming class was over 26, so obviously admissions is tightening up. That mark has risen for the past 10 years straight. If you have 10+ hours of AP credit you can do another 30-35 hours in 2 quarters no problem. You'll just be taking GEC's and entry level crap anyway.

How many times did you take the ACT? Did you try to improve on your score at all? A 27-28 would've probably gotten you in.

I didn't bother trying a second time because I looked it up and it said the avg. was a 20. I guess the site was wrong. I thought I did really crappy on the ACT though, and I would've retaken it, but my Dad told me I didn't need to.

Well not without making an appropriate payment of fee, and certainly not without checking with the Admissions Office

In essence, you have been accepted at Lima, don't want to go there, retook the ACT and now have (presumably) better data to support your improved application for the main campus. The one thing you would not wish to do is void your existing acceptance at Lima, no matter your preference to be on main campus.​

Wouldn't hurt to call now would it?​

EDIT: I think the process I describe is called petitioning - using an improved ACT in support of your request to be reconsidered for main campus.

Hmm...I'll have to see if there are any ACT dates between now and Feb. 1st that I can still sign up for. Also, would I call them to switch from Lima to another branch?
