Another one I've noticed, which surprised me, is "heresy" or maybe it was "heresay". I can't remember who was using this, maybe Oh8ch
Thats not just heresay - I am guilty as charged.
I have found my spelling and word usage skills diminshing dramatically the more I use computers. It started with the auto-spell check capabilities of Word where you no longer had to think about grammar because the SW took care of it for you. Then I relearned the meaning and spelling of so many words over on BN.
But heresay - that is all miine.
What would really be a hoot is if we cold hear the way folks pronounce some of the words they use.
P.S. Just for kicks I 'goggled' 'heresay' and got 13,400 hits. Most of them were folks mispelling the word just as I was - at least one in a published article about 'heresay evidence'. There are also two bands (one country and one punk) who have produced albums titled "Heresay".
I could probably try to make some sort of case based on 'common usage', but I got 507,000 hits for hearsay.
Ooh, ooh - this could be fun.
I just got 116,000 hits for rediculous.
