It's Ridiculously rediculous, in a rediculas sort of way.

Another one I've noticed, which surprised me, is "heresy" or maybe it was "heresay". I can't remember who was using this, maybe Oh8ch

Thats not just heresay - I am guilty as charged.

I have found my spelling and word usage skills diminshing dramatically the more I use computers. It started with the auto-spell check capabilities of Word where you no longer had to think about grammar because the SW took care of it for you. Then I relearned the meaning and spelling of so many words over on BN.

But heresay - that is all miine.

What would really be a hoot is if we cold hear the way folks pronounce some of the words they use.

P.S. Just for kicks I 'goggled' 'heresay' and got 13,400 hits. Most of them were folks mispelling the word just as I was - at least one in a published article about 'heresay evidence'. There are also two bands (one country and one punk) who have produced albums titled "Heresay".

I could probably try to make some sort of case based on 'common usage', but I got 507,000 hits for hearsay.

Ooh, ooh - this could be fun.

I just got 116,000 hits for rediculous.

Actually the use of till or 'til is correct, aight?!

Don't you just want to smack someone & point out the letters they forgot to use when hearing that word.

till2 ( P ) Pronunciation Key (t

prep.

Until.
conj.

Until.

[Middle English, from Old English til, from Old Norse.]

Usage Note: Till and until are generally interchangeable in both writing and speech, though as the first word in a sentence until is usually preferred: Until you get that paper written, don't even think about going to the movies. ·Till is actually the older word, with until having been formed by the addition to it of the prefix un-, meaning “up to.” In the 18th century the spelling 'till became fashionable, as if till were a shortened form of until. Although 'till is now nonstandard, 'til is sometimes used in this way and is considered acceptable, though it is etymologically incorrect.

'til

Til \Til\, prep. & conj. See Till. [Obs.] --Chaucer.

I have been confuciously reading this thread and have decided that grammar and spelling are highly overrated.

I am going to keep this short as to not make a skeptical of my post.

Mike Tyson and Tonya Harding are smart...S-M-R-T...DOH! s-m-A-r-t.
