It's going to be USC, whats everyones thoughts?

USC is weak in the D line, Booty can be had . He has a quick release, but has slow feet. After Jarrett they have no star wr. Let's play them
Fla would be ok too. Their offense sucks.
we can hold them to 21 points easy, game over.

I've only had the privilege of watching USC twice this year. Once against Cal, and the other against the domers. In the Cal game, their defense played very well in my mind, but Longshore and Cal played terribly. The domers secondary is paper thin, so they easily shredded them with accurate throws and good routes. Booty won't have half the time to throw against the bucks, and Jarrett will have a top-notch cover corner on him named Malcolm Jenkins. I don't expect to completely shut him down, but his effectiveness will be much less than it was against the domers. Manningham and Jarrett have both lit the irish up, and God only knows what we would have done to them this season. This helps me feel confident going into a NC against the trojans.

Their offense is comparable to tsun's, and their defense is not even close. Scum has a more experienced QB, and we beat them without taking the ball away once. I keep hearing about their D's speed, and that doesn't make me nervous either. Tsun was supposed to have the greatest D ever, and we dropped 500+ on their asses.

Trojan-Shrmojan, bring em on.

But, we shouldn't be counting our chickens yet. UCLA on paper should be demolished by USC, but that depends on which USC shows up.

11/11 #21 Oregon W 35-10
11/18 #17 California W 23-9
11/25 #6 N Dame W 44-24

UCLA has a significant chance to knock these boys off, considering how inconsistent Pete's team has been. I really don't feel the need to see The Game played in any other month than Nov., and I don't believe Florida will beat Arkansas. Don't be too shocked to see the former come true if USC pulls a boner on Saturday.:wink2:

I'm guessing methomps isn't posting in this thread because he's laying on the floor laughing uncontrollably.

OK. I know this isn't the same USC team as the 2004 edition, but so far from reading this thread, we've established both their lines blow, they have one good receiver, who is overrated to boot because hey ... it was only Notre Dame. Their defense can't even chase down the white ND QB, and their own QB is a statue that will freeze like a deer in headlights if you rush five.

Did I get all that right?

Why are we playing these bums again?

Because UF blows

Kinda reminds me of an election where there's nobody worth voting for, so you go for the lesser of two evils. Here's my "evil" bracket;
1. Tsun
2. USC
3. UF
So, according to my evilness bracket, we should play Florida. Ain't gonna happen unless they put a serious hurtin on Ark. and USC fucks up.

Even then I doubt UF gets the nod because Arkansas is now a two loss team. I hope so, but I think we could be headed for a rematch if USC does not win.

Broken play fine...thier DBs still looked SLOW. If they spy on Smith, that's fine. Michigan made that mistake...and 42 points later they lost.

And...I agree. I'm not sure we are going to play USC. The UCLA/USC game could be an upset.

I'm not contesting that their DB's are not as good as tsun, but a lot of people are under the impression that Troy will be able to run all over them due to that one play. USC will adjust and try to prevent this. I was just making the point that Smith will not run wild, but I'm sure I will have some big gains on the ground, somewhat like Vince Young did last year, but probably not as many yards because Troy can throw. :):osu:

While it is interesting to read how the teams will matchup if they played in the 2nd week of Dec, there is still 1 whole month of bowl practice. Now the teams have one whole year of film to watch of both themselves and of the opponent. Given that JT and PC are two of the best coaches in college football now, what aspects will each team have to improve upon, and what aspects will each team be able to improve upon until then?

For me, I find it alarming that we allowed Hart to run for nearly 150 yards. It is alarming that there were a lot of pass interference calls in that game (some ridiculous no doubt). Of course, I am probably not as keen an observer of CFB as some of you are. So please enlighten me.

edit:
Not to mention the impact bowl practice has on the next season. For SC, they can have as many as 18 starters returning. And this was supposed to be a rebuilding season for them. They seem to be an unstoppable juggernaut. For us, we have a lot of starters return on both sides of the ball, with critical losses being in the QB and DLs. But I suppose this is a topic for another thread.
