sooo... dark blue, or black, or really any dark color can not be used in a women's locker room cause it make make them men?

personally i have always liked the pink locker rooms at iowa. i find it rather amusing. its not like they are providing an unsafe environment. i got news for ya, anyone who gets taken out of their game by the color of a wall doesn't stand a chance when greenway or hodge damn near takes their head off. there is no color on this planet that if stared at long enough will ever stop me from wanting to see women naked.

After 30 years, Iowa opponents still think pink at Kinnick Stadium

For over three decades, opponents entering the locker room at Iowa?s Kinnick Stadium have felt like they just walked into a dollhouse. The space is coated floor to ceiling in bubblegum pink, even in the bathrooms, from pink sinks to lockers that look better suited for Barbies than 300-pound linemen.

What is a program decked in black and gold doing with a pink locker room? As the familiar legend has it, former Hawkeye coach Hayden Fry, a psychology major, ordered the makeover when he took over in 1978 in an effort to create a soothing effect on opponents. Jails have employed the same technique.

But the psychological edge is only part of the reason.

?Frankly, the only color paint we could find at the stadium was pink,? Fry said this week from his home in Mesquite, Nev.

Whatever the motivation, the motifs have become a cherished part of Iowa tradition and a constant annoyance for opponents. Former Michigan coach Bo Schembechler hated it so much he had his assistants put paper over the walls to cover it.

And the radio station called me back and said, 'Coach, you can't do that.' And I said, 'I just did.' And I hung up on him."

all that aside, id personally like to see the big ten force iowa to remove 3-5 rows from the stadiums sidelines. the stadium is so tight, the potential security issues need to be addressed along with the players safety of hitting the walls/getting rolled up on, on the sideline.

*i do note however they have modified the away teams tickets to allocate a few rows to the visitors the length of the field to prevent some issues, however to big of a problem still exists, if you as me.

Iowa professor to protest pink visiting locker rooms

The Iowa Hawkeyes have had a long-standing tradition of having the visiting locker room painted pink. It was a brain game move by former head coach Hayden Fry in 1979 and has remained a part of attempting to give Iowa a home field advantage. A professor at Iowa is planning a formal protest against the pink locker room at the same time the school plans to honor Fry on Friday.

Kembrew McLeod is organizing a “million robot march” to protest what he believes demonstrates the university allowing the football program to taunt an opponent by pushing homophobia and sexism. It has been suggested the pink finish in the locker room is designed to break down the visiting team’s mental toughness. Whether it works or not is probably uncertain for sure, but there must be something to having the pink finish all these years. This is hardly the first time a concern about the pink locker rooms has surfaced at Iowa though. the gimmick has been criticized by a number of feminists, lawyers, gay rights activists and more over the years, and there will likely be more to come in the future as long as the locker room remains pink.

McLeod tells the Associated Press he and his fellow protesters will dress as robots and shout “Binary code yes! Gender binaries no!” as they address their concerns on Friday.

Iowa has no plans to redo the visiting locker room at Kinnick Stadium.

McLeod, 43, was dubbed "Roboprofessor" after he heckled Clinton during a 2008 speech in costume. He followed that up in 2011 when Bachmann, then a Republican presidential candidate, visited an Iowa City diner. Video of McLeod dressed as a "gay robot" accusing Bachmann of being a "robophobe" and a "homophobe" — before getting booed and escorted out — quickly went viral.
McLeod said he hopes to create a similar scene Friday.
"Ten to 30 robots marching along with human allies is a visual spectacle that I think will travel far and wide," he said. "It's a serious issue, but we want to demonstrate that we are not humorless, politically correct downers."
