I just want to say again...how is it possible for a major, power 5 program to field an offense this incompetent? I could almost understand if they were just decimated by injuries, but they're not. They just suck. And blow.

Hiring/promoting your son to run something he’s woefully unqualified to coach is probably a large portion of it. But I think the game has passed Kirk by. He’s coached some insanely good players on the OL, at RB, at TE, and a couple of decent QBs to the point where he should be able to coast on the recruiting trail and still be able to field a team consistently competing for the Division.

Nepotism, for one thing. Ferentz should’ve been fired long ago. But he was locked into a long contract with a huge buyout. Then he managed another good season and they gave him another huge contract extension. He gets an annual bonus if he wins just 7 games in a season. Remember there was a time before the last extension when he said he was just giving up on recruiting players from Florida. Expectations are low, he’s comfortable and pretty secure. It’s really not a formula for competitive excellence. It’s a formula for mediocrity.

Said to my dad earlier in the game that he doesn't try to win, he just wants to be able to play the game his way.

Even though the game was never in doubt, there’s nothing wrong with pointing out when the team isn’t living up to their own standards. That’s what the coaches will do when they meet with the team to study the film. They still have work to do and things to fix and it’s not being negative to say so.

Like the coaches say, it’s better to learn after a win than it is after a loss. But there are still teachable moments galore in this game. But that’s how it always goes. That’s part of a team making its way to playing their best ball in November.
I don't know that anybody here would disagree with any of that. But some posters do absolutely nothing but complain and apparently expect OSU to make every opponent look like a MAC team and when they post the same gripe again and again, it gets really old.
Some posters complain when Ohio State beats a MAC team 77-20....
