I wouldn't count on it. He's signed through 2025, they can't afford to buy him out.

His bonuses would max out at $2.925 million (including a new one: $500,000 for every eight-win season).

Iowa gives a $500,000 bonus for winning 8 games. At Ohio State if you only win 8 games you'd get fired; hell, Earl Bruce got fired for only winning 9 games.........:lol:

Alls it take is a couple of disgruntled ex players who think they should be in the league and your program is under attack unless your name is Dabo. They way our administration folded in the Smith deal TOSU could be in a mess at a snap of a finger.

SPENCER PETRAS, IOWA QUARTERBACK
No one here needs reminded of what happened the last time Ohio State faced off against Iowa.

That game took place in Iowa City, and quarterback Nate Stanley threw for five touchdowns in a 55-24 beatdown of the Buckeyes that effectively knocked them out of the 2017 college football playoff race.

This year's matchup takes place in Columbus, and the Hawkeyes have a new quarterback behind center for the first time in three years after Stanley's graduation.

Spencer Petras looks like the guy in charge heading into 2020. He was Stanley's primary backup last year but only threw 10 passes all season. While he's a relatively unknown product, he's dangerous because of Iowa's playmakers.

Tyler Goodson is back at running back after a solid freshman season in which he ran for 638 yards and five touchdowns. But the biggest issue for Ohio State's defense could be out wide as the Hawkeyes return their top four pass-catchers in Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Tyrone Tracy Jr., Brandon Smith and Nico Ragaini, who combined for 163 catches for 2,189 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2019.

Petras will invade Ohio Stadium with all the weapons he needs to challenge the Buckeyes defense this fall.

External review finds racial bias, bullying in Iowa football program

An external review of Iowa's football program found an environment where many Black players felt bullied and demeaned, and recommended that coach Kirk Ferentz and athletic director Gary Barta take steps to improve the culture.

Iowa commissioned the review, conducted by Missouri-based firm Husch Blackwell, after claims from more than 60 former players in early June about racial inequities in the football program. The review found many positive comments from current and former players toward Ferentz, but it identified three members of the coaching staff, on-field or from the strength and conditioning program, who "abused their power and verbally abused and bullied players."

"I have read the report, and it is clear that the climate and culture must and will change within our football program," university president Bruce Harreld said in a prepared statement. "Our student-athletes must have the ability to be true to themselves, and we cannot and will not tolerate a systemic process that inhibits authenticity."

Ferentz, who has led Iowa's program since 1999, said in a prepared statement that the review "brings us face-to-face with allegations of uneven treatment, where our culture that mandated uniformity caused many Black players to feel they were unable to show up as their authentic selves.

"I want to apologize for the pain and frustration they felt, at a time when I was trusted to help each of them become a better player, and a better person."

Unreal that the football program is not gutted as a result of this review.

Iowa Hawkeye fans will be kept out of Kinnick Stadium no longer. On Friday, Iowa athletic director Gary Barta reportedly told the Des Moines Register that the school is planning to have 100% fan capacity during the 2021 season.

“All systems go. We are preparing for and planning for 100% capacity,” Barta said in an interview Friday with the Des Moines Register. “I say that, because the Big Ten is now (deferring) to local decision-making. The state of Iowa, we’re making great progress. The infection rates are way down, hospitalization rates are way down. I’m really excited.”
