Game Thread Iowa at tOSU, Homecoming, Oct 19, 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN/ESPN2

What I don't get, is they are running a similar offense to ours. Big backs, control the line, get the te/rb involved on the perimeter, just minus the long passing attack. Does our defense not practice our offense? Or do they just run drills all day?

To be honest the D hasn't missed Roby. He has played like garbage this year. Don't know if he's just putting in time until the draft a la Chris Gamble, but he has not been good.

I won't defend the Big 10 anymore until they give me reason to. Ohio State right now is the best in a bad conference. They are the tallest midget.
The scheme is what is killing me. Does Ohio State really not have the talent to press Iowa? IOWA? Rush 3 on 3rd and 8? Really?
The secret is out on Northwestern and they suck and they did the exact same thing to this D. Coaching along with soft play are the story of this defense so far this season. Bama and Oregon win by 4 TDs if Ohio State somehow has the misfortune to face either one. I'm pulling for both the rest of the season just so Ohio State doesn't have to play either team.

Fickell and Withers have some explaining to do and I hope that Coach Meyer is peeling the paint off the walls right now with the coaches and the players.

2nd Half:
- Need the D to make adjustments and some people to step up and make some big plays. Iowa
has been controlling our DL and that needs to change.
-A turnover or two would be nice.
-We need to get to the QB. Way too much time to throw the ball.
-On Offense we will be fine. If Spencer holds onto the ball its a tie score going into the half.
-Getting a TD on our first possession would be nice.

LET'S DO THIS BUCKS!

I think we should lift any 'swear bans' for the time being. It's just not good timing. Also, any 'alcohol-induced rage followed by coma' bans that could arise. This is what happens when the best thing about the day so far has been watching Bill Murray kick Lee Corso.

I think we do. Recruiting has been lights out, probably better than it was when we were consistently putting top-10 defenses out there. We miss Heacock a lot.

The problem on defense is coaching and execution. Neither line has looked particularly good, but the D-line has been embarrassed. The offense needs to move the ball in the red zone and score on these guys.

Iowa will be as good in the second half as the Buckeyes allow them to be. How much do the Buckeyes want an undefeated season and a BCS bowl?

Right now, that penalty on Philly is a backbreaker. Totally wiped out a huge momentum changing play. Hope he gets a chance to redeem himself in the 2nd half.

Same here, that would have been an easy first down. And actually, we should have declined the call on them now that I think about it...it was way down field and would have left us with 4th and short, or maybe even first down? Couldn't we have declined that instead of being 4th and 10 with the replay of down?

I don't like a scheme that relies on a turnover to win. I like them, but I don't like to rely on them. Other than that, all those points make sense. God I hope they make some changes on defense.
