Game Thread Iowa at tOSU, Homecoming, Oct 19, 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN/ESPN2

Except underneadth the shoulderpads is not the neck area nor can it be confused with the neck area. It's a bad call...
Apparently, the officials on the field and the booth disagree with your interpretation.

I didn't make the damn rule. Email the NCAA.

How are DB's supposed to dislodge the ball if all they can do is wrap up? I'm not disagreeing with you; it's just a stupid rule.

Perfect form tackling dislodges the ball all of the time. Impact can still be the same but they can't turn sideways into the hit just run through the tackle.

Ok now we got momentum, let's work up the proper #6 on these ass munches.

I don't like the rule any more than you, but he launched upwards and hit him above the shoulders as he was turning around. That was a textbook example of what they're gonna call. It's stupid, but it is what it is.

No, he did NOT hit above the shoulders. Roby hit his shoulder into the receiver's shoulder and then slid upward. The rule doesn't say you can't hit the shoulders, it talks about not hitting the head.

Also, the player had possession of the ball and when you are turned around, its at your own risk. It wouldn't had been a foul had he hit him with his arms around him, right? So then he wasn't defenseless.

The ONLY thing they can get Roby on is a launch, thats it.
