LaBusta down, Marte back in Cleveland. Roll out the red carpet...

Indians send down LaPorta, activate Marte | indians.com: News

...[censored] has more lives than a cat.

 my god

Shelley Duncan is on the roster

and LaBusta gets sent down for Marte

trading a cy young pitcher for a player who cant even hold a roster spot over Shelley Duncan or Andy Marte

and the man who pulled the trigger on the trade (and the awful cliff lee trade) is being promoted

Last Monday I was at Yankees Stadium... and Raffy came in to give up a grand slam to A-Rod followed by a solo shot to Cano... 2-1 before... 7-1 when he left... I hope they didn't pay him for that days work

so far so good for Frank Herrmann

3.2 IP 1 H 0 R 3K/0BB in his first 3 appearances

Austin Kearns (.259 career hitter) leads the team in BA at .313, the only person who is even close is Choo at .282 :slappy:

not a surprise. they'll throw him in fall ball and get a better gauge of where he can start off in the system. he won't spend a lot of time outside of akron in his first year would be my guess.

but, he was largely considered the #2 overall pitcher in the draft and concensus top lefty. david huff on hgh.

this seems like a brilliant move

Cleveland Indians drop Mark Grudzielanek; Anderson Hernandez promoted from Columbus | cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Mark Grudzielanek was designated for assignment by the Indians before Tuesday's game. Utility infielder Anderson Hernandez, promoted from Class AAA Columbus, will take Grudzielanek's spot.

Grudzielanek is the second veteran jettisoned by the Indians in the last five days. Jamey Wright was designated for assignment over the weekend when the Indians were in Chicago to play the White Sox.

On Sunday, Grudzielanek started for the Indians, but left the game with a strained right hamstring. Manager Manny Acta said he was better Monday, but he did not play against Boston.

The Indians claimed Hernandez on waivers from the Mets in spring training. He was Acta's starting second baseman in Washington for the first half of last season. They had to purchase his contract from Columbus because he was no on the 40-man roster.

Hernandez was hitting .234 (39-for-167) with four doubles, one homer and 17 RBI in 46 games at Columbus.

Grudzielanek, 39, hit .273 (30-for-110) with the Indians. All 30 hits were singles.

bringing up a guy whos hitting .234 in AAA (and whos a .245 career hitter) :slappy:

why don't they just bring up some guys from Lake County. At least, that would save them some money because it would be a shorter bus ride and they would have more money to pay their future prospects. This entire organization is an embarrassment and it is not getting any better.

Somebody please fucking tell me they didn't send one of the few guys who actually busts his ass on this club down because he hits singles. Especially when they call up Anderson Fucking Hernandez who couldn't hit a double in the bigs (hell, couldn't hit the ball in the bigs) anytime in his past.

But of course, we keep up Hafner and Peralta because of their inflated as fuck salaries despite the fact they haven't been half the player Grutz has been all season :shake: Maybe we can call LaPorta back to play shortstop...I mean, we need to get that bat in the lineup somewhere, right?

Fuck this management.

grudz is done. his hammy is going to be an issue all year. it isn't worth keeping him at this point. and again, they aren't going to waste a year of arbitration on a guy that isn't on the 40 man at this point, unless he's just too good, like hermann.

We need to do something with Crowe... he is going to get hurt unless we put a helmet on him... there was one play last week-- a deep drive to the gap in right center... he completely over-ran it.. when he recognized his screw up.. he looked back over the other shoulder and tried to go back.. and the ball almost hit him in the head

If I was the GM, I'd be torn as to whether to bag the season completely and play all the kids... Branyon and Hafner be only be used to let the kids rest...

What the heck happened to Hafner... he signed a big extension.. and went straight to the toilet
