Luis Valbuena is still a Cleveland Indian, but his demotion to the Columbus Clippers is rumored daily.

On Monday, Tribe manager Manny Acta said of the second baseman: ?"He's had a couple of key hits, and he's played well defensively. But he has struggled offensively. We'll continue to give him a chance. It's up to him if he takes advantage of the opportunity."

On Wednesday, Valbuena made two errors, including a critical one in the ninth when a grounder that would have been the third out went through his legs while he was playing shortstop. The Tribe ended up losing 5-4.

There are two major reasons for the rumors: Valbuena?s anemic .175 batting average and the fact that Columbus shortstop Jason Donald is hitting .323. The Philadelphia Phillies? media has also been closely monitoring this because Donald was one of the players the Indians acquired in the Cliff Lee trade.
