Indians Tidbits (2010 season)

Weak. Pathetic. Inexcusable.

Chris fucking Perez should buy Westbrook dinner on his way out.

No excuses for a professional ballplayer earning that kind of money to perform like that. NONE.

Long summer coming up.
Fellow Indians' fans: In the interest of saving time typing or looking to quote the above, please be advised I am condensing the above to simply "#383". It will be said often this year, only substituting today's loser (hopefully not Perez every time). So, from here on out, look for me to simply post "#383" where applicable, ie every fucking game.

That is all

Brevity. I like it.

I will simply utilize this:

Yeah, 2003 was rough, but you knew they were building towards something. They had dealt off a lot of stars for prospects and had some garbage vets left behind. Same as this year. They were/are gradually breaking in those youngsters and it takes patience. Hopefully Peralta and Hafner aren't long for this organization. I know Hafner's untradeable at this point, but maybe somebody will be stupid enough to offer up a mid-level prospect for baby huey come August.

Also, am I the only one who is beginning to wonder if Sizemore is ever gonna approach the potential he once showed? Through the injuries, the whiffs, the silly pics popping up on the internet, I'm wondering if maybe the hype was a bit over done...
That was about the only saving grace I had for the year. I like the youngsters.

Droobs, Valbuena, Laporta, Brantley, then some of the pups down on the farm (Santana, Rondon, etc.).

I love the young talent. They'll be fun to watch.

2nd worst team in baseball IMO

only the Astros have a more pathetic combo of incapable hitting and shitty pitching

Actually I'd take the Astros pitching straight up...it's their hitters that are so fucking awful. I hate to say it, but it isn't even Pence hitting less than .100 or El Caballo hitting under .150 that are the problems...when Jeff Fucking Blum is your #5 hitter, you are in serious caca

Went to the game today. The tailgate was the best part.

Do we actually have a bullpen? - Guess not. & Outside of Chooo!!! Getting the bat on the ball there's nothing in the way of anything at the plate. This team just hurts my eyes. When the Rangers scored in the 10th we packed it up - i'm not fairweather fan, but I knew what was coming and I just tried like hell to beat traffic.

We bring in a closing pitcher and I watch the bases get loaded - I laughed.

On a side note. Holmgren was at the game, showed him on the big screen. Got a really nice (loud) welcoming. I think he know's these fan's are counting on him for something big.

Despite their start, I feel pretty confident Toronto will end up worse. Washington too.

eh, id go with Baltimore possibly being worse before Toronto

and yea Washington is likely

this team will pick top 5 in the draft, but with the god awful first round drafting under Shapiro, its not like it matters where we pick

thankfully, shapiro isn't running the show anymore. antonetti will be making the calls on draft choices. he apparently made the call on the chisenhall class and last year's as well. so, we'll see if he only picks AAAA players like shapiro did.

you expect erratic performances from the young guys, but it's not excusable for guys like hafner and peralta, especially peralta.

I don't think I've ever disliked a player as much as I do Peralta. I've spent the last two summers hoping he'd be dealt and I'll do the same this year. He's lazy, is the opposite of clutch and basically a waste of a roster spot. Hafner is pretty much on the same level at this point. I don't know if he's off the juice or if the shoulder is still an issue, but he isn't a ML player anymore.

From Indians.com:

Perez followed up a blown save in Detroit on Sunday with another rough outing against the Rangers in the Indians' home opener, a 4-2 loss at Progressive Field. Brought into a game that was tied at 2 in the ninth, Perez let Texas load the bases without recording an out. "Unacceptable," Perez said. "[The closer role] is probably not going to be mind much longer if I keep pitching like this."
