Indians Tidbits (2009 season)

Fuck this "team".

How can a pitching staff manage to walk Soriano twice?

If Wedge isn't fired at the All-Star break, and we know he won't be, this front office just stopped caring or is more delusional than most think possible.

This might be the best point of the night. I mean, walking Soriano twice in the same game is like walking the average hitter like 12 times in 4 games. I mean usually anything between the dugouts and he'll swing at it. What's next, walking Vlad Guerrero 4 times in a game?

Every major league team seems to come down to their bullpen, and the Indians have one of the worst ones ever. EVER.

For some reason I decided to go to the game tomorrow...

At least I can be like the typical Cubs fan and just enjoy the party, a flask of jack + some old styles should help me forget about whatever disaster I'm about to witness

They can fire Wedge, but they'll still have the same shitty pitchers. Seems like they need to look at who is signing these bums as well.

That's true, but his mismanaging of the bullpen has led to a number of these late game rallies. The guy is a fucking moron when it comes to strategy.

Wedge has worn out his welcome, but the Wood signing was crazy. Carl Pavano? Relying on Fausto to be the #2? Plenty of blame to go around, and some good hitting being wasted as a result of bad pitching.

Agreed on the Wood signing. Pavano was had for dirt cheap, so not much room to complain there...he's actually been better than I thought. Of course, now he's turning into what I always thought he'd be. Can't place much blame for Fausto on anyone. Nobody saw him becoming a mental case. He wasn't great last year, but most of that could be chalked up to injury.
