Coming into tonight, the opposition was punding Zito at a .325 clip. These humps go 4-24 (.167) against him. It's like they're too stupid to realize that a lower ERA is better, and they're intimidated by higher numbers. Well, we're into their bullpen now, so maybe they can get something going...buckeyemania11;1192464; said:its sad how predictable this team is

CLEVELAND Barry Zito has been lost since crossing the San Francisco Bay.
Not surprisingly, he found himself Wednesday night on the shores of Lake Erie.
Zito, looking like the Cy Young winner from his Oakland days, pitched the Giants past the Indians, 4-1, at Progressive Field, 15 years to the day the Indians last brought up the rear in a division.
The Tribe celebrated the anniversary by returning there.
Wednesday's loss, coupled with the Royals' 10th win in their last 11 games, puts the Indians in the cellar for the first time in the Central Division and for the first time overall since June 25, 1993, when they were last in the seven-team American League East Division.

Chuck Crow/The Plain DealerBarry Zito, who had an 8.66 ERA for the month of June entering Wednesday night's game, totally dominated the Indians in San Francisco's 4-1 victory, allowing just four hits while working into the seventh inning at Progressive Field.
Barry Zito beat the Indians on Wednesday night. There would be nothing wrong with that sentence if it was written in 2006 when Zito was finishing a long and distinguished career with the Oakland A's. But the Indians lost to the San Francisco Zito, the left-hander who seemingly lost his mojo the minute the ink dried on his seven-year, $126 million deal.
Zito (3-11, 5.91), the losingest pitcher in the big leagues this year, held the Indians to one run over 6 2/3 innings in San Francisco's 4-1 victory. The loss perfectly defined the state of manager Eric Wedge's club. The most painful part of that reality is that they still have 78 games to play.

In a few weeks maybe they will call up the entire Bisons or Aeros roster. That way we can see what we have for the future.when there is a firesale in a few weeks, he'll get the call-up.
It really doesn't bother me that they lost to Zito. He is a quality pitcher and has some quality stuff. Maybe he is just starting to come around after a poor start. I would not mind seeing him in a Indians uniform.:)Does this writer not understand, it has nothing to do with Barry returning to old form
