Indians Tidbits (2008 season)

Good grief, this team is royally fucked. Not only do they play shitty baseball, but they can't even stay healthy. Did somebody put a hex on them this past winter? When you're forced to bring up a guy hitting .159 in AAA, it's time to raise the white flag.

:slappy:It's funny but it's completely true. This team is nothing more than a breeding ground for AA and AAA players right now, and it's not looking ot get better either

The bats have finally started to come around....we're up 10-1. Let's just hope they can keep it up for the rest of the year. Buttttt that's prolly too much to ask. As soon as they come back from the All Star break, I have a feeling this team is going to go into another slump

Well at least that would give us time to trade CC. So by normal "Only in Cleveland" standards. The Indians will get hot over the next few weeks and get back to within 1-2 games of the White Sox come the end of July. Then on August 1st the wheels will fall off and we will end up 15 games back by September and wishing the collapse happened before July 31st.

If this team is ever going to make some sort of run they have to do it now

next 4 series

Padres (30-38) Rockies (26-40) Dodgers (31-35) Giants (30-37)

They're going to have the runs allright!

Their uniforms will all be yellow in the front and brown in the back.

Indians 12, Twins 2: Injury-depleted Tribe breaks out of offensive funk

Friday, June 13, 2008 3:19 AM

Associated Press

CLEVELAND -- Hit hard by injuries, the Cleveland Indians decided to battle back -- harder.
Ben Francisco and Jamey Carroll had four hits apiece to lead Cleveland to a 12-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins last night.
Even with five key players from last year's American League Central championship team on the disabled list, the Indians had 18 hits, including homers by Shin-Soo Choo and Grady Sizemore off Livan Hernandez (6-4) and four relievers.
"It says a lot about our guys," manager Eric Wedge said. "They have strong character, are feisty, and find a way to win ballgames. It was good to see clutch hitting up and down the lineup."

Mark Duncan/Associated PressVictor Martinez's first at-bat Wednesday night might be his last for a while, as Martinez aggravated soreness in his right elbow and left the game. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Friday and could miss up to two months.

All-Star catcher Victor Martinez, placed on the disabled list before tonight's game against the Twins, will undergo arthroscopic surgery Friday at Cleveland Clinic on his right elbow. Martinez, according to Indians head athletic trainer Lonnie Soloff, will miss the next six to eight weeks.
Second baseman Josh Barfield was also placed on the disabled list with a sprained left middle finger. He will visit Dr. Thomas Graham in Baltimore on Monday to determine if surgery is necessary.
