Time for Indians to show some fire on field

The chief concern with the slumping Cleveland Indians is not cold bats but warm hearts.
What the Tribe needs more than anything is a mean streak, a nasty attitude that chafes at being pegged as the kid brother of the big boys from the Bronx and Boston.
Instead of a swagger, however, we get this poetry from Cleveland general manager Mark Shapiro: "To be playing meaningful games at this point is an honor."
Huh? Does that sound like a team ready to rip someone's head off? Granted, baseball is less suited to rah-rah rantings than football, but an injection of invective after getting embarrassed by the Yankees during a three-game sweep would be welcome relief from such watered-down stuff as, "We can't let our chins fall and pout about it," as manager Eric Wedge put it Sunday
