Indians Playoff Hopes (Merged)

You have to feel for the White Sox......they are not playing bad baseball except for the 8-0 loss to the Tribe recently a lot of their games have been 1-2 run losses.....its just not going their way right now.

Does anyone know what happens if the Indians and White Sox finish with the same record? The Tribe needs the Sox to lose at least 1 more game than them through Friday, and they have to win the series next weekend. Best case scenario the Sox lose 2 or more games than the Indians and they go into the series next weekend dead even or ahead.

i think if they tie its just a one game playoff.

however, what would really throw a monkey wrench i the mix is if cleveland, chicago and boston all finish with the same record and the yanks win the east.

the loser of cleveland/chicago would have to play boston for the wildcard spot i think.

So would they have a double header next Monday? Don't the playoffs usually start on Tuesday? This is a hell of a race.

that Yahoo article with all the Major League quotes was the shit!!!

the only thing that really sucks is that even though the Tribe is in the midst of the greatest comeback in Baseball history, all the Heads are talking about is Barry Bonds and Rafael Palmiero... fuckers...

there are a LOT of people on the Indians' Badwagon, and i love it...

Why are White Sox fans panicking? If they get overtaken for the Division, they can surely have a shot at the 'Card.

One way or the other, they can still get in. Of course, it wouldn't bode well for their playoff chances.

They would have the one game playoff on Monday, then the game with the east team Tuesday, I imagine.

It definitely could happen the other way too... and a small chance more likely... just due to math... that the Yankees, Red Sox and Indians finish in a tie, then (if the Tribe were second) they would wait a day to face the loser of the east playoff game.
