Yeah, yeah .. If a red wood tree falls in the forest & no one's there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Buck Nasty: "Dave Kingman, he also homered for all 4 teams"

David Arthur Kingman is correct. In 1977, he started with the Mets (NL East), then was traded to the Padres (NL West) for Bobby Valentine & Paul Siebert, then selected off waivers by the Angels (AL West), and then sold to the Yankees (AL East), all in the same season. Had 26 Home Runs that season, too.

Actually, not bitter .. just havin' a little fun witcha. How good are the AL East & AL Central this year? There's 5 or 6 teams jockeying for 3 Playoff spots ..

"Steinbrenner is Palpatine, and Torre is Vader..."

And the Red Sox are the Ewoks. Me & Tibbs covered all this last season ..

TRIVIA QUESTION # 3: Can someone name me the only player to get a base hit for two different teams on the same day? HINT: It happened in the mid-80's ..

Just as side note... the 4 strikeouts in one inning "feat" has happened (by my count) 46 times... I was poking around for fun... Chuck Finley did it 3 different times.

Nasty is batting 1.000. August 4, 1982: Traded by the New York Mets to the Montreal Expos for a player to be named later. On that day, he played a day game for the Mets, got traded, flew to Montreal, & played that night for the 'Spos, and got a base hit in each game.

aurora: "So last year, the two dark lords of the sith got taken down by a bunch of little Ewoks? Damn, being a Dark Lord must not be as good as it used to be..."

Actually, that's EXACTLY how the Empire was taken down in the first place, if you remember ...

I was more talking about the two dark lords vs. some Ewoks, but that's fine too...

Any more Trivia for us Sloopy?

Actually the two Dark Lords (Darth Torre & Big Stein) sent the Empire out to fight the Ewoks, and they lost (never directly engaged). But that's a story for another thread, and one that buckeyegrad should be on.

"Any more Trivia for us Sloopy?"

Let me think up some more overnight & post them tomorrow. My mind's a blank right now, and I gotta run home, get changed, then head down to the Bronx to help my Aunt put together a futon. So they'll have to wait until the A.M.

Just got home from my trip to Cleveland.

Red Sox Nation nearly outnumbered the hometown crowd. It wasn't a pretty win, but we'll take it.
Ya I was disappointed with the amount of boston fans to the amount of cleveland fans... just got home from the game... pretty good crowd (28,500) were ready to cheer but there wasn't anything to cheer about the whole night.

Tribe just got their asses handed to them

Yankees (last night) and Indians
Freaking Yankees... the only thing that was making me happy last night during the Indians game was knowing the Devil Rays were once again blowing out the Yankees.

Speaking of which, was that their first win against the Devil Rays this year?

It is horrible that RSN outnumbered the hometown crowd. But it doesn't surprise me, this is like their last chance tour cuz all Red Sox fans in the world know this is the last world series championship for another 86 years. So gotta live it any chance they got, eh?
