Game Thread Indiana @ Ohio State - 10/06/18, 4:00PM (FOX)

The game to watch is MSU. It shows you how they perform against what is the most similar to OSU level of athletes that they have seen all year.

Just checking the box score out, that seems like a really even game. A pick 6 by Sparty was the difference until Sparty put it away with an 85 yard run with 3 minutes left. Outside that run, they managed less than 275 yards of offense and turned it over 4 times.

Honestly, I'm expecting maybe a 10 point win...34-24 or something like that.

Was watching as IU was driving to tie in the 1st Quarter and threw that dumb pick-6. QB got rushed, tried to dump it off to RB, threw it high...tipped/dropped by RB and 70 yards the other way it went. Rest of way was like you said, pretty even mixed with turnovers by each- IU just couldn't make up the difference. Fake FG for a TD by Sparty as well in 3rd Q.

Some uncommon things, imo. IU played Michigan State tough. But that's MSU (not buying them) and it was at home.

There will be fits, but ultimately I'm not worried over 60 minutes.

I'm concerned with a let down and this being Indiana's championship game. The thing that I think will prevent the Offense from having a let down is the extremely poor performance in the first half at PSU. They will come in motivated. I just hope the D didn't spend themselves last week. LB's are improving. Safety really concerns me. DL is banged up. This is a potential trap game.

The game was at Indiana, and Sparty was up 28-7 after three quarters. This game is at home, so as long as we don't come out flat, there's no reason why we can't be up something like 35-10 at halftime...

WATCH: Buckeye Players, Coaches Preview Indiana Game

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes return home on Saturday to face Indiana.

The 4-1 Hoosiers are off to a hot start this season, and could keep things interesting if the Bucks aren’t focused.

Last year, a dramatic comeback win over Penn State was followed up with a belly flop in Iowa City.

This year, OSU’s players and coaches know they can’t afford a similar slip-up.

Tuesday night, QB Dwayne Haskins, RB Mike Weber, CB Jeff Okudah, CB Shaun Wade, DE Chase Young, defensive line coach Larry Johnson, and running backs coach Tony Alford met with the media.

They reviewed the win over Penn State and looked ahead to the game against the Hoosiers.

You can watch their full interviews below.

Football: Ohio State shows highs and lows through first five games

IMG_1294-1lvduvw-530x353.jpg

At nearly the halfway point in the season, Ohio State has proved itself to be one of the best teams in the country, coming in third overall in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 Poll with a 5-0 record.

The Buckeyes have wins against two teams that were ranked at the time of defeat, including a road win against No. 9 Penn State that took a 12-point comeback with eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

But even after the comeback victory, a win in Arlington, Texas, against TCU and dominant victories at home, head coach Urban Meyer said on Monday that it still feels like Ohio State hasn’t reached its full potential.

“Not even close to where we are,” Meyer said. “There is a tremendous ceiling on this, and we haven’t gotten close to it.”

Regardless of whether Meyer thinks Ohio State has not peaked as a team, the team finds itself in the driver’s seat of the Big Ten East, with the supposed toughest matchup on the schedule out of the way.

With four teams coming up in the next four weeks that the Buckeyes are expected to defeat, there are areas of the field that they will need to fix before heading to East Lansing, Michigan, to play No. 20 Michigan State.

Against the Nittany Lions, redshirt senior quarterback Trace McSorley had the best game of his career, tallying 461 yards — the program record for all-purpose yards in a game. A Penn State record for a quarterback, 175 of those yards were on the ground.

“We had the quarterback that was performing one of his best games in his career, some was scramble, some was direct run,” Meyer said. “When you have that kind of player, that’s a hard thing to defend.”
.
.
.
.
“The answer is you have to play better,” Meyer said. “We have some new players, but it’s Week 6.”

It is Week 6, and Ohio State is 5-0. The key for the offense has been redshirt sophomore quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who earned his third Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award of the season with his performance in Happy Valley on Saturday.

.
Meyer complimented the offense’s performance in the final quarter, and said, after the game on Saturday, the first-half performance was “awful.”

“The fourth quarter on offense was perfect. Not perfect, but well done,” Meyer said. “They did a very good job with what they were doing, which was basically pressuring us 80 percent of the time, and we didn’t handle it well. We ended handling it well the second half.”

With Indiana and Minnesota home games coming up, followed by a trip to Purdue before a bye week, Ohio State has an opportunity to fix the mistakes the Nittany Lions exploited.

But, as Meyer said, the important thing is the record.

“We’re 5-0,” Meyer said. “And we haven’t played close to our best game.”

Also, MSU turned it over 3 times in Indiana territory. Indiana had 17 points off turnovers. It shouldn't have been as close as it was.

The scores didn't really tell the story to me, it was obvious MSU had complete control of both LOS.

It is equally clear that MSU doesn't bring anything like what OSU does when it comes to athletes along either line.

deBoard is the OC now, not Kevin Wilson. The spread is -25ish for a reason.
