Indiana at tOSU, November 21st, Noon on Fox

I’d bet money Day doesn’t call that kind of game against a Clemson or a Bama but hard to know. It’s just annoying to watch Buckeye Nation collectively slit their wrists every time shit happens, especially this year every team is a shit show to varying degrees. Just looking to panic.

One, I agree about the play calling. I'd be shocked if the same game plan was used against Clemson, ND, or Bama. Seems like Day was more aggressive and thought they could get land haymakers, but it ended up stalling more often than not due to the INTs and sacks.

As for the reaction, I think we as fans forget how important game reps are. Only 4 games in and you're still a work in progress, with a lot of new starters on D. You can read a lot into issues this year, but ultimately most teams are playing sloppy due to no spring, shut downs, and certain players being held out.

I'm frustrated, but it's a big win and with everything happening just hope there's a game next week.

Eh, I doubt many 17, 18 year old kids watch, absorb and analyze these games as much as we do. It’s not going to affect recruiting.
I hope you’re right. He still has his rep as being a pro coach going for him and that’s what kids are looking for is who can get them into the pros.

Wade appears to be regressing and losing his stock as a 1st rounder. Other guys such as Johnson a 5* he recruited look lost.

We don’t have a 230 lb meat eating monster at QB we have a 215 vegan twirling leaping QB.

It has been an issue his whole time here, but he’s never seen that volume of blitzes...and as a result, he started hearing footsteps and got very rattled resulting in him either trying to do too much or chucking up horrendous throws. If I was an opposing DC right now, I’d watch that IU defensive game plan and copy it to-a-fucking-tee. We still got our yards, but continually shot ourselves in the foot.

No doubt. Up to Day and Fields to be more prepared next time.

I liked this. Unliked it and the liked it again.

As you said there is no excuse to not executing better and that's been the story for basically 2.5 games in a row.

JF did some really dumb shit out there today. All 3 of his INTs it was like "wtf are you doing" and that's concerning. That was the first game they've ever done that before though which should earn a little bit of an excuse.

The defense though is a surreal trend which is to be honest not ending anytime soon.

It was best of posts, it was the worst of posts

Coombs: We are thin at the DB position and really need players with your outstanding ability. I have thoroughly reviewed your game films and I believe that you have a real chance to start for us on day 1; however, it will be up to you to earn it.

Recruit: Where do I sign coach?
He’s never shown a willingness to play many freshman. I doubt that is going to sell any recruits paying attention.

Yeah, Penix going 27/51 for 491 yards and 5 TDs is bad. However, it isn't all the DB's fault; the other position groups takes some fault too (i.e. linebackers in coverage, missed tackles, and lack of a consistent/effective pass rush, etc.)
