Not only did TCU lose to Boise in their bowl last year, their "big" OOC win is over Oregon State. At least Boise beat Virginia Tech. TCU got a huge boost for beating a vastly overrated Utah squad and no one noticed when Notre Dame dominated the Utes a week later.

While the Aztecs are improved this season, they're still not THAT good and TCU barely held them off in Fort Worth. Based on who they played and where they are ranked, TCU is a bigger fraud than Boise this year, and they're going to the Rose Bowl.

And I agree, I don't think that the Horned Frog's resume for the BCS would be as good as Boise's (which itself was not very good to begin with). But does the poll voters' issues on where they rank TCU merit some of the hatred for the program? It's actually a very good historical program and their athletic budget is more than many BCS conference schools. There were some very strange reasons why TCU was not included into the Big-12 conference.

And San Diego State is amazing this year!! I don't know how anybody could argue otherwise... ever. We are great.

I have much less animosity towards TCU. They do have some history, they are in a state where they can get great players and now with the move to a BCS aq conference, I think they understand what they needed to do.

(the Big XII is not/was not going to take another Texas school)

Great, now TCU can go run the train on a conference worse then the one they currently play in - the only difference is now they'll AQ to beat the living hell out of a shotty ACC champ.

Something to think about: If Wisconsin beats Indiana by scoring 83 points and lays 70 something on Northwestern and 38 on the Buckeyes, won't they have to score at least 45 on TCU to make the point that WAC schools don't belong in the BCS? Won't they have to score 80+ to prove that Indiana-Purdue-Minnesota-Michigan-Penn State are any different than Wyoming, New Mexico, Old Mexico, San Fernando Valley and Douchebag Tech?

I thoroughly believe that Wisconsin will beat TCU, but unless they score more than 90 they have nothing to erase the argument that you need to grind through a tough conference schedule. (So Tressel takes a knee to keep the bucks in the 30s v Michigan. Don't know if Wiscy could have kept the scores lower, but its sure worth a thought.)

It goes against all I believe (i.e. I don't believe that BSU, TCU, or the ACC and Big East deserve auto admission to the "Big Shew."), but it's hard to defeat the stats as they present themselves.

So is the big east now called big east + a little bit in the west? Why would tcu go that far east? And these non-aq schools sure know how to find the loopholes. Tcu and Boise will never nut up. They'll demand respect but do little to prove they deserve it

For TCU, the decision has to be incredibly easy to make.

They get the benefit of joining an AQ conference, access to East Coast recruiting areas and television markets, and a piece of far more lucrative revenues from basketball and football television contracts than they could ever hope to receive from even an expanded MWC.

As an added bonus, it will confound the efforts of their most recent nemesis and colleagues in Boise to legitimize their program; TCU gets the legitimacy of having a power-conference tag, and leaves Boise sucking the vapors of TCU/BYU/Utah's collective departures.

It's got an auto-bid; it has phenomenal basketball, and undoubtedly is a much bigger cash cow when it comes to television than the Mountain West.

TCU stands to make a lot of money, and the Big East to shore up a bit of it's sagging football reputation.
