I can actually respect TCU a little more than Boise. I've watched some of their games and think they play pretty solid football.

Yeah the first 3 pages of their offensive playbook isn't every trick play invented so far in football :p

Don't forget their reliance on trick plays and the smurf turf to match their blue unis and helmets. Anyone who plays on a field with unis made to match said field exactly (or the other way around) deserves even less respect. Most schools with green as one of their main colors don't match their unis to their field turf color.

I used to have a little more respect for TCU. For one thing, their president seems to worry about more than the football team.

Boise is just an abortion on the landscape of college football: the blue turf/matching uniforms, the arrogant, entitled fans who seriously thought that they would blow out any BCS opponent in a bowl, the hack, hypocritical president threatening to sue the NCAA to force BCS schools to play in Boise while big-timing his own in-state rival and refusing to continue playing at U of I, the lawyers on retainer and shameless lobbying, the bullshit "anywhere; anytime" boast when facts are proving that it really means 1 game against a mid-level BCS school that we think we can beat.

I'm hoping that this is the end of it. If tcu stays in the MWC that should be a decent enough conference that Boise can't roll through it playing a half of football each week, and one loss is all it takes for everyone to shut up about them. After the Nevada debacle, I don't see Herbie and most of these other pundits climbing back out on that limb anytime soon.

Unfortunately that is not eSpins way, they will play up how tough Nevada is, citing Kapernaeks (sp) chasing of NCAA records as proof of how good they are, heck they beat Cal, who played the juggernaut Oregon to a standstill.

I haven't seen them use any trick plays for a while. I agree about the field.

Q = Based on what bozo? The Wac went 1-4 in bowl games last year. The Big 10 was second only to the SEC last year in wins.
A = Total Wins in a conference with 8 home games, 3 subpar non-Aq opponents...and league "tests" like Indiana, Purdue and Minnesota? Lets not go there

when in reality they schedule OOC THE SAME WAY as Ohio State/Wisconsin/Oklahoma/etc

what is the difference between Boise's OOC scheduling and Ohio State's.....NOTHING

in most cases its 1 BCS school and then 3 non AQ teams who dont pose much of a threat

the difference is...Ohio State actually has to come to play every week in conference play.....Boise State's run of cream puffs continues throughout the conference season

Yeah, I didn't graduate from a mid-major in TCU's conference.

I understand the anti-Boise State crowd. They talk a lot of shit, don't back up their claims on the anytime-anywhere scheduling moniker, play a 1-2 game season then sit back and watch.

I don't understand the anti-TCU crowd.

Not only did TCU lose to Boise in their bowl last year, their "big" OOC win is over Oregon State. At least Boise beat Virginia Tech. TCU got a huge boost for beating a vastly overrated Utah squad and no one noticed when Notre Dame dominated the Utes a week later.

While the Aztecs are improved this season, they're still not THAT good and TCU barely held them off in Fort Worth. Based on who they played and where they are ranked, TCU is a bigger fraud than Boise this year, and they're going to the Rose Bowl.

It may have been "reflected" but the fact is TCU didn't really lose a thing. That win boosted them to #3 and they're still there. TCU is not as annoyingly arrogant as Boise but their resume for their ranking and bowl is every bit as flawed, if not worse.
