Impending Assistant Coach Vacancies

I just want someone to allow the DBs to turn their God damn heads back to find the fucking ball in the air. I don’t ask for much. And while I like Coombs a lot and was excited for his return, I also think that it speaks volumes that one of the first questions Haf had to address in his intro presser was his philosophy regarding face-guarding or looking back for the ball.

I stand with Haf on this issue.
Unfortunately Coombs does not seem to agree with me you and Hafley.

Rumor from football scoop Tennessee is going after Al Washington for their DC position.

That would blow goats.

If it were to occur we better not backfill with an offensive QC coach already on staff.
that would have to be a helva offer... to know your D is gutted and the isn’t arriving for another 2 years or so....

A hell of an offer.... that place has chewed through coaches and like it's been pointed out they are losing a ton to transfer. UT is going to get curb stomped and for their effort's they're probably going to be placed on probation with a bowl ban and probably scholarships taken away.

So in sum it's going to get a ton worse for them and they're in the most competitive league in college ball.

Would not be smart for Washington to go to UT.

Rumors on Buckeye Scoop forum via the 11W forum that Washington is not leaving Ohio State.

Al Washington is staying at OSU. He told the Vols no.
Ohio Stater, an extremely plugged in poster on Buckeye Scoop. Nevada also has been leaning this way (Al is leaning pretty confidently staying but Tenn asked him to sleep on it).

The Letterman Row team has brought it up, but Day seems to apply the “developed here” mantra to the coaching staff as well, and hopefully that can pay dividends with continuity, if this does work out with Washington staying (and in potential future situations as well).

Thanks Buckeye86!
I'll be able to nap better today knowing that (unless snowballs stay frozen in hades), that Washington is staying put. If he can coach up the 'new' linebackers tOSU puts on the field to at least perform to the level of last year's veterans, and of course, the rest of the Buckeyes perform as well or better, then it augers well for tOSU to be playoff bound again. Another great performance, and then repeat next year with the great crop of newbies, then Al can probably have his pick of schools if he so chooses. I like the level of LB recruits he's bringing in, with a couple of exceptional recruits still to be committed, so the LB room should rival that of the WR and QB rooms. Great news on the Buckeye front. Go Bucks!

If OSU improves on the defense next year, the LBs play as good as they did last year and they reach the same amount of wins, I could see Washington being name Co-DC following next season. And that's regardless if we win the NC or not
