Impending Assistant Coach Vacancies

If OSU improves on the defense next year, the LBs play as good as they did last year and they reach the same amount of wins, I could see Washington being name Co-DC following next season. And that's regardless if we win the NC or not

Mandatory. Day seems particularly good at reading the room and I'll be surprised if he doesn't do this, contingent on the success you reference, of course. He laid it out there for Alford a couple of years ago, challenged him positively, and has gotten insane results. We need a young, talented, black coach. That's just a fact. We need to walk it. I think we have, but it needs to be ramped up. Washington is that guy.

Tell me about the analyst position.

How much would the position pay at OSU v Bama.

Are they allowed on the field during practice.
Where are they during games.

is there a limit to the number of analysts.
I’ve heard rumors for years of Bama’s deep bench of analysts.

They're typically paid somewhere between 35k-50k. Most take the job after being fired and are still being paid by their previous employer. There is currently no limit to the number you can have but they cannot do any on-field coaching. They mainly help with game-planning and self scouting.

I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat.

It’s a football nerd’s (yes, me) dream job (it would need to include the multi-million dollar buyout from my old job too though.) You don’t have to go out and recruit or actually coach a position. Just watch a shit ton of film and talk to other coaches about what you see lol.

I'm retired from the military and can't stand civilian jobs so I'd even take the lower end of that range to work with the OSU staff. Heartbeat!

so...is he gone or no? can’t find any confirmation one way or the other

I'm wondering that too. I'm guessing that nothing is official yet. His agent is probably still in contract negotiations with either Ohio State or Tennessee.

FWIW, (the hopeful good news is) his twitter account still says "@CoachWash56....The Ohio State University Linebackers" though.

They are going to burn meth trailers, beat wives, and kick dogs down here (in other words, just another Tuesday) if they don't get Washington.

I'm scared to wear my Buckeye jacket to the Dollar General without the Glock 19 on my belt. I hope they end up with Steele, who must feel like wet garbage that won't even ignite in the back of a dumpster fire at this point.
