Impending Assistant Coach Vacancies

Per Bill Landis on new Asst OL coach hires:
Feel like these are pretty solid additions. Wealth of experience to tap into with Dickey, who's been at good OL programs and produced some good ones himself. I thought Johnson did some nice work at Purdue under tough circumstances. Purdue stunk this past season, but will have one, maybe two OL drafted. Marcus Mbow could be a first-round pick. Not sure if Laurent will be workwing with OL or not, but I like that he was an OL GA on Lance Leipold's OL staff for a year in Andy Kotelnicki's offense.

I read this as Day’s move towards a (healthy) understanding of why he hasn’t been winning the game.

His OL has been whipped 4 years running.
Usually I would take this opportunity to galvanize the fanbase and remind people that the hammer is coming to Michigan because they fucking cheated for 3 years.

But last year they didn't cheat, and I like to make my ego feel better by reminding myself "well yeah, but our coaches did stupid things". And that's 100% true. HOWEVER...........even our coaches doing stupid things should have worked against that shitty fucking team this year. They were TERRIBLE. If our OLine could just do a serviceable job with the worlds worst gameplan against the worst Michigan team since Covid (which wasn't that long ago......hahaha you fucking losers)....we still would've won. But the OL was as terrible as the gameplan. So we lost.

TL/DR: agree

A competent OL still loses this year with that terrible offensive gameplan

That is what I meant by "healthy"

Don't try to force the wish onto reality of being able to run the ball/stay balanced or whatever, but the fundamental issue has been the OL for 4 straight years in The Game.

Maybe if we could have run it better, Kelly/Day don't vapor lock and actually call a reasonable game.
