OrangeRoughy;1713042; said:In short, yes. Especially a westward, football-centric expansion. Say they start slow, only add Nebraska, and split east/west. That makes the Big Ten West Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Illinois. Big Ten West basketball champs from now until 2083.
BTW, Rivals team recruiting rankings the last five years for Illinois: 70th, 35th, 23rd, 20th and 31st. If only their players could handle the "tremendous" pressure of those rankings and the fans expectations to at least play in a bowl game every year they could get this thing right......or it's the fact Ron Zook is your football coach.ThaKid101;1713094; said:They just can't cave in to the tremendous pressure brought in not only by rivals, but so called fans. They'll get this thing right IMO.

There are a lot of Florida Gator fans who would tell you Zook is a great recruiter but once those recruits get in the program, where's the player development?Buckeye Nut;1716214; said:Scout.com: Spencer to OSU - Daniels to?

Oh yes we are well aware Zook can get some recruits, but like you said what happens to them once they get there? He's landed a handful of four and a couple five stars while at Illinois but has produced very little results. Benn was a great talent but I think he had less than 10 TD's in three years at Illinois, what a waste of a talent and of a college football career that had so much potential. Zook does seem to rise up every year and beat one team that he has no business beating, that's what we can getting ZOOKED! You shouldn't have to worry about that though, he very well may be gone after this year.red in colorado;1719040; said:There are a lot of Florida Gator fans who would tell you Zook is a great recruiter but once those recruits get in the program, where's the player development?
Former Florida and current Illinois coach Ron Zook thinks the SEC is better than Big Ten
Big Ten, SEC, college football, conference realignment

In case you missed it while you were out this holiday weekend:
First, Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville came out and said the Big 12 would probably not last very long because there?s just too much disparity between all the teams.

Now, Illinois coach Ron Zook has said that the SEC is a better league than the Big Ten.
The former Florida head coach was a guest on The Paul Finebaum Radio show earlier this week and when asked if the SEC was a ?better conference? than the Big Ten, Zook said:
?At this time, it probably is but I think there?s teams in the Big Ten Conference just as well as there?s teams in the Southeastern Conference that can play against anybody.
The biggest thing that I?ve noticed is that maybe in the Southeastern Conference there?s a few more big guys that can run, but trust me there?s some awfully, awfully good players in the Big Ten Conference as well.?
#17 = arguably the best C prospect. This new math confuses me.OregonBuckeye;1727621; said:Another entertaining thread brought to you by ThaKid. He really should be a scUM fan. He'd fit right in.
