Illinois Fighting Illini (you'll see)

More of Tha Kid...

That's huge. If you rememeber I was very high on Thornton. Excellent news. That B10 championship is coming fast guys.
What have they done recently? In terms of recent times...Illini****************Iowa.
People have the wrong idea about Chicago. It absolutely IS an Illini town and so is the state. The problem is most of the media within the state (Or the major papers I should say) comes from either NW (They're heavy in Chicago), ND, Purdue, or some other B10 school. Ryan and the Tribune are no different (Greenstein, etc.). Once we start winning, and winning big (Which is soon), we'll put all the anti Illini talk to rest. They'll have to respect us because we'll be winning.
In reference to Terry Hawthorne
I disagree. I think Hawthorne definitely would've been a third rounder at least but he did a very smart thing by coming back. He'll be a 1st rounder next year.
Talking about USC transfer Kyle Prater
By now I'm kind of impartial to Prater. Hopefully he does what he was going to do (And should've did) the first time and come to the Illini. If he doesn't, they'll still be fine. It's up to him whether he wants to get a great education AND get a NC.

Rivals - top 30 in Illinois

The highest rated in-state recruit who has committed to Illinois is Vontrell Williams, ranked #16 in the state, although #13 Vincent Valentine is still deciding among Illinois, Florida, and Nebraska. So that means that Illinois missed out on at least the top 12 recruits in state. Even freakin' Indiana was able to lock up the #11 and #12 recruits in Illinois.

Of the remainder of the top 30, Illinois has only one other commitment, from #22 Robbie Bain; the Illini are also being considered by #21 Shaquille Joyner and #25 Lamontiez Ivy.

That's right, folks - if Illinois gets lucky, they will sign 5 of the top 30 players in state, with none being ranked higher than #13. Sounds like the home grown prospects are really into the Illini....
