AS many on here have pointed out, notably Gatorubet and the other SEC-ites, that is the Zooker's MO. His teams will be inconsistent, undisciplined and horrible some games, losing to teams they have no business losing to, but other games will come out and beat somebody ranked well ahead of them, looking very good.

It took them a while to get it.

Best ending since Mackovic, at least.

Yep. It's funny to see guys keep talking like they're coming off 2 3-9 seasons or something. They won't even give Zook his credit.

Bemoaning the fact that fellow posters won't give Zooker "his credit". :slappy: I love that [Mark May].

I really, really think that was coming next year. I know I've said it before, but I'm 100% more confident in saying it would've happened next year. The depth is finally there. They just lacked a few impact players they needed (Mainly an impact RB) and those were on the way next year. I just hope Beckman can capitalize because he's getting a lot of talent.

Ah, kid...ever faithful that the "big time" is/was just around the corner.

MSU just lost one to Urban too.
We shouldn't get used to anything. As long as they keep the current guys and bring Jones (And obviously get a monster 2013 class) they will go toe to toe against OSU or anybody else. I can't wait to suit up.
Yep, Illinois, with Tim Beckman is gonna be toe-to-toe w/tOSU.

He's called on his extreme homerism, and prediction of 10 wins this past year:

All they needed was a RB...but next year they will only get stronger if they keep the current guys/add Chris Jones. Like I said you'll see soon enough.
The famous Kid "you'll see soon enough". Has that worked once? Don't even know who this "Chris Jones" is, but I'm sure he's the answer. :banger:

Another poster:
So who will be the RB next year? Last time I checked we haven't added anyone significant, so since you said we didn't have one this year.....I'm guessing you agree that it will be a problem for us again next year. I like D. Young....but for some reason Zook/Petrino were satisfied with 3.8 ypc with Ford.

Also, who's going to play WR? Jenkins is gone and we didn't have a #2 guy. We actually didn't have a #3 or 4 either. I know you like Millines....but he still hasn't proven anything, except that he's injury prone.

Our schedule is tougher next year.....I say 5 wins is likely. Who do you have us beating next year Kid?
Kid:
Actually they will add someone significant. Dami Ayoola is one of those impact RB's I've been saying they needed, and they got him. Also, I'm still a big believer in Young too. He was just young this year. He has the ability and potential to become an impact RB and they'll definitely need him. Ferguson will be a factor as well now that they're moving back to the spread. They're good with those guys but if they can just add that one guy who can take over a game they will be set. As for WR, Millines is going to be a stud just watch. He's been hurt but I have no doubt he's going to come back. And watch out for Whitlow...I'm not going to say much more than he's going to be a stud.

They're good at WR (Could always use more impact guys though) and its not just because of the personnel. Moving back to the spread will allow them to get over any deficiencies they might have early on but the biggest thing is there will be nobody who will be able to cover LaCosse and Davis. I'm telling you they're two monster TE's in the making, NFL TE's (Don't forget Lattimore, Wilson and Villunas either but especially Lattimore with his receiving). All the pieces are on place for the offense to be really prolific in year one for TB, and I fully expect them to be. As for the schedule, I don't think its tougher. I'll get back to you on the wins because I have to go right now, but I think Beckman should win at least 9.
Dami Ayoola:

*** and Scout's #90 RB. That sounds like an immediate impact player to me. :slappy: But, hey, he's from Florida, so he must be good.

Also, they're good at WR. Ignore the fact they threw to no one but Jenkins this year. The Whitlow he knows is gonna be a stud is former **/NR WR Jeremy Whitlow.

My Choices for DC

Anyone know what Butch Davis is up to these days? If I were the Illini I'd definitely give him a call and try to get him. Great defensive coach and excellent recruiter. Another guy I would call is Larry Johnson at PSU. He turned the Illini down a few year ago but with that situation going on now would be a good time to try again. I also really like Mark Snyder at USF and he would be a great pickup as well. Both of those guys are great coaches and great recruiters as well. Those would be my top 3 choices but regardless of who they get I would keep Mike Gilhammer. He's a great secondary coach and the recruiting is a plus as he was really picking up steam in NJ, Florida, etc. I'd love to see him stay on the staff.
Yep, he says "Butch Davis".

After spending a thread still defending Ron Zook by pointing out Zooker's success putting people in the NFL. Posters point out that if he's so great, why such a poor record?

I guess I'll just leave this alone. No matter how many valid reasons one can give for why things happened, people will always have their own account.

I'd love to hear the reasons. :banger:

Kid's retort as to why he's suddenly accepting of a "spread" offense when he's apparently long been against it (didn't they run a version of the spread this year and with Juice?):

Yeah I have for two reasons. 1) It's coming back (coming back, kid? It's been pretty widespread for the better part of a decade) so there's nothing I can do anyway but support it. 2) They have the talent in place to be a top offense because they can mask the few deficiencies they had in the pro style. With the spread they're set up to be a monster offense with Millines, Whitlow, agile (And physical) OL, quick/fast RB's and the most important factor, two absolute matchup nightmares at TE (3 when you count Lattimore). It's a better fit for who they currently have and I'm fine with it because it takes the need to get impact players this class down (Obviously the more you can get the better). Another bonus is guys are a year older so I'm actually starting to get excited when I think about it more and more.
(BTW, the poster challenging him's handle is "LloydCarrsSmegma"...GREATEST HANDLE EVER. :slappy:

All of these guys he's raving about are low *** kids generally ranked #50-100 at their positions.

I've come to the conclusion that thaKid is the best thing on the entire internet. Even though he's batting approximately .091 on his predictions, he stays out on that plank. I wish he'd come back here.
