If defensive staff changes are coming, who should OSU be looking to hire?

Well Pagac is still in the NFL... he's apparently up to it. Question is if he'd leave NFL as a positions coach to be a Coordinator here again.
Heacock is still around as an adviser... not sure if he's interested in full time coaching and the recruiting that goes with it again, though.

I'm fully expecting this result. Coaching changes are a huge deal, has an effect on recruiting, current roster, culture, etc. It's not as easy as just switching coaches out, IMO. Although, a fan could argue what happened at Texas earlier this season.

I think Urban will try to support this defensive staff, and we may find him becoming more involved personally, who knows. But I think he'll struggle to cut loose guys he hand picked after a successful 2 year run, regardless of how our defensive stats look.

I hope I'm wrong, but my gut keeps telling me this.

Whomever it is I pray that they have a bad attitude and they instill that attitude in our defenses going forward. Hard, aggressive style to match the type of athletes that we are recruiting.

Its all in how it happens.. Withers/Fickel leave for a HC/NFL job that's easier to explain than them leaving for the same job at another school (Fickel's case) or getting out right let go or "not retained"

But honestly Withers is the only one I see leaving.

I hope this ends either the co-DC BS or Fickel calling the plays on D.
