Idea to Redout Penn State

Well...

Yeah, the sure explains why they had to organize some sort of T-shirt thingy so their team knew they were behind them. :shake:

Regardless, I maintain, Ohio Stadium is regularly a sea of scarlet. Organized or not.

many that actually attended the game said that it was the most amazing atmosphere they have encountered at a football game.

Hard to conjure that up with a T-shirt thingy weekend.

I was at the game. The students would have been crazy with our without the shirts....and for the same exact reason we don't need shirts.

We are Ohio State, they are not.

I will also be wearing my scarlet for the game. They want Penn. State to see an all scarlet (red) stadium for the game. What other color is there to wear if you are a Buckeye fan?

:oh: :io:

I am envious. Enjoy. Be LOUD! If you remember anything remember this... :oh: :io: ROCK the shoe...Post your analysis after the game!

Fact is this board is about people and their opinions, and as the people in support of the idea of a sea of scarlet are perfectly entitled to state their views on why doing such a thing is important, I'm equally as free to have my opinion that doing the "sea of scarlet" in response to the "white out" smacks of the same bad taste (to me) that dancing on a team's logo has.

If it was our idea first, maybe I'd be more in favor of it. This seems to me OSU fans way of one-ups-manship. But, because I recognize that people don't all agree with me, I'm being genuine when I say, go for it.

I always wear my Scarlet #7 on home days anyway. But, it's not because of some underground directive.

it is what beats beneath the shirt.

Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of Debbie Downer's out there.

Wah, wah...

Debbie Downers?

What kind of bushleague institution do you think Ohio State is? If I wear purple on Saturday I'll still be as amped up for Ohio State as I ever am. I'm not going to sit here and type away in some lame attempt to make you think I'm super fan, but if you want to talk about "Debbie Downer" maybe you oughta look in the mirror. Since you seem to think that the only "true" buckeye are those that would parot any idea you support.

A river of blood runs through it though would give it a nice touch, like say, The Shining

Is that blood? They talked about red rum in that movie, so maybe it's red rum.

I think it's a great idea.

Obviously I wasn't at the Penn State game, but from TV it looked absolutely WICKED! I mean duh the students are going to support the Bucks no matter what, but DAMN it looked awesome! And I'm sure it does get into the minds of the players, so why not?

With our without you...

This is not about the students...it is about ALL fans.

It was the student section at PSU that did the "Whiteout Ohio State" thing. The big reasons they did the whiteout thing (keep in mind their primary color is blue, not white) is because:

1. "Whiteout" was an easy-to-remember play on words
2. White stands out more, being that was a night game

As mentioned before, the other 89,000 people in the stands would've been just as crazy had the 20,000 students in white not all wore white.
