Personally, I thought this was a STUPID idea and from what I saw Ohio Stadium looked like...well, Ohio Stadium. Not to mention they were all waving white towels as someone mentioned. :roll1:

HAYN

From the Blimp, the Stadium looked AWESOME with the Scarlet definately contrasting against the grayish Shoe walls!

Also thought the white rally towels were a nice touch as they POPPED against the Scarlet backdrop.

Great response by the fans!

Hope to see something organized for the scUM game.

Did anyone else notice their LAME maize-out? Like 10% of the stadium was in maize and it wasn't even in solid in certain sections.

The differences in the fans is night and day!

The same people who organized the "Sea of Scarlet" or what ever they want to call it, are trying to get something going for thte Michigan game. It seems like it would be more difficult because of the weather. Not everyone will have a red sweatshirt or jacket to wear if its cold. Suggestions? They were talking about selling pull overs or panchos or something, but probably the easier it would be to do, the more people will take part. I would also like to see something for the Michigan game, but I think it would be harder to pull off.

I would guess, 90% of people who attend Ohio State games, have an Ohio State jacket or coat.

After tailgating for an extra 2 1/2 hrs. before the game this year I don't think anyone will need a jacket or coat.

I have never even taken one with me to the stadium before. Just put on a couple long sleeve shirts and a sweatshirt under my jersey and do alot of yelling.

I could tell a pretty significant difference in the stadium on TV with the blimp pictures. pretty much SOLID red all around except for the two small sections for PSU fans.

However, and I couldn't quite tell exactly cause I was watching on TV, but the Shoe didn't seem as "rocking" as i've seen it in the past. Was it the weather? Play of the game? Ineptitude of the PSU offense making it kinda dull?

The weather to an extent, but it stopped raining after halftime. I think it was mostly our offense dropping a lot of passes and Smith throwing 2 picks, not to mention some pretty bad calls/no-calls by the refs. Our side of the stadium seemed to be mostly students and it was jumpin' the entire game (we didn't or couldn't sit down). However, across the field I could see the other section sitting down for most of the game - pretty dissapointing.

In an unrelated note what is everyones take on standing on the benches? Saturday was the first day in 3 years that someone cared. The 4 rows ahead of me are standing on their benches, I can't see, so I and everyone else in my row stands on the bench. Just stand on the bench in front of you and everyone can see...no big deal. We're all students, we can get rowdy once in a while. Now, if the person behind me has some sort of disability or whatever then I won't stand on my bench and I'll make sure that person doesn't have any problems seeing the game.

What side were you on? The NW corner was standing for the whole game (as usual) and was getting loud, and from where I sat the entire south stands looked like they they were going pretty strong the whole game (except the top part of block O who were apparently either too drunk or too stupid to do anything).

I was in 11A and never sat.

I just watched the first quarter of the game in HD on my lunch break, and it looked 'more red'. I think it was more the HD than people wearing red shirts, because from inside it looked like there was less red with all the ponchos.
