Itchy trigger fingers? Despite being "the Tigers," Auburn somewhere along the way discovered an eagle and added it as a second mascot. As for the "and loses to it's biggest rival regularly," part the series stand at 38 - 33 - 1. Hardly out of whack and I do believe that Auburn, not Bama, has had the better of it the last couple of decades and ever since they moved the game from Birmingham, near the Crimson Tides' campus, to a real home and home series. Interesting also that the series ended in 1907 following a squabble about the 1892 game (!!) that could not be resolved until 1948 and then by legislative decree.

And as for the War Eagle thing, supposedley some dude let one loose in a game when we were losing way back when and we came back to win it.

I think it has more to do with this:

Yeah, I remember that, but that's been more than a year, and he's not even our coach now. (Although I do miss that big eared bastard) Sure the dude shoved his foot in his mouth, but that shit happens, this dude got boned harder by the BCS than any coach and he was just trying to make a point about the side of the BCS he doesn't like. OSU just happened to be everybody's favorite target at the time.

Don't say that so loud, Nutriaitch might hear you. The Auburn hate I'm referring to is the fact that a comment like "WAR EAGLE!!" spawned 5 pages of people trashing Auburn. I had forgotten that comment made by TT and I was questioning where all of the agression was coming from. I see now where it stemmed from.

It's not that. It's the fact that, after our 2 losses to SEC teams in the Championship game, instead of being proud and gracious a bunch of your fans chose to act like assholes . Hell, I was stopped at Disney World by some Florida fuck who gave me shit about my OSU shirt. So, no, we don't take kindly to you people. You need to earn your stripes maybe a little bit more than others. Posters like Nutria, Gatorubet, LSUJohn and others took their lumps and are now valuable members of our community. You can be the same.

Didn't the entire "war ___" on Rome come from an Auburn fan saying it first on his show? Now it's just been years of people saying "war something" after every call. I think at the time no one knew what the guy was talking about and then it just caught on in a mocking way.
