i was there for the big storm in early 03. that was the first time they cancelled classes since the 60's i believe. we were in chicago for our fraternity and had to take a bus home right into the heart of the storm. it took us 10 hours to get back to campus that day/night.

blizzard in the 70s? 90s cold snap i think closed it or parts of it...

skiff of snow, glaze of ice. as hitch said last night you arent braving weather unless your engine block heater doesnt work (note 99.9% of cars normal people drive in ohio dont have block heaters), its atleast 40 below (air temp) and two guys cant see each other standing shoulder to shoulder (ie more than six feet of snow on the ground and blizzard conditions.).

My commute was actually better today than yesterday due to the lack of people on the roads. It took me 1 hour, 15 minutes to get to work yesterday and only 30-35 today (normal trip is right around 20 minutes). Lots of standing slush on the interstates made it slippery. It looks like the precip is changing to snow much later than was forecasted... it was changing from sleet/freezing rain to snow on my drive in and was suppose to change earlier this morning.

It sucks in Dayton-2.5 inches or so yesterday, then an ice storm, now the fresh snow is pouring down like crazy. I am a substitute teacher right now, so this storm-and the smaller one two weeks ago, are sticking me in the you know where.....:mad1:
