that's what it looks like.

Basically what the snow ratios mean is that 1 inch of liquid precipitation falling is the same as 15 inches of snow. Storms coming from the south tend to have higher ratios since they pull moisture from the gulf.

I hope that helps...

Won't happen even though locals have all said it is coming over the next few days

We will end up with nothing and then Jym Gahnal will have some excuse why it didn't happen.

Jym Gahnal also does Tecumseh in the park or whatever.

I'm hoping for the snow, not really expecting it. I know how Central Ohio weathermen roll.

1. E-mail from one of my students (NKU) yesterday when we had but a dusting on the ground, "Sorry, but all the schools around me are closed. I don't think I could make it out of my driveway." I resisted the temptation to say, "This is college, not high school."

2. Woke up to a good 3 to 4 inches on the ground and more falling. The weather pattern for the last 30 years has been that the big storms go either north or south of Cincinnati, last February being an exception. Perhaps this will be an exception too.

3. Can't wait till student from #1 e-mails me to tell me she won't be coming in for the next two weeks.

4. My first year of teaching in Cincinnati was 1977 - 78, the year of the blizzards. We'd used up 3 snow days by Christmas break and ended up needing 15 or more. My wife was teaching in Kentucky that year and they didn't get to summer break until the 4th of July.
