For the third time since I lived here we have snow. It is the first time it has stuck. it will be gone soon but is an unusual sight here. I was the only person in the weight room at my normally crowded gym. Schools are closed and kids are playing in their yards.

It is still snowing and they are closing bridges and roads. Snow is a big deal here, no plows or salt/sand trucks. I live in Mandeville. The ride to work was full of bent trees and broken limbs due to weight of the snow.

Tomorrow it will be 60.

didn't quite make it this far down.
Houma (about 20 minutes north of here) got some this morning.
All we got was a little rain/ice mix. Skies are clear now, but this is too damn cold for my tastes.

I like Mandeville, it is a community you could pick up and put in any state and be at home.

They may close the Causeway! Now that is funny, about 40-50,000 cars cross it daily. No one is getting any work done here.

I will take the cold over the heat and humidity any day.

Yeah, Mandeville is a nice a place. From what I saw on TV, y'all got a shit load of white stuff this morning.
Closing the Causeway is always fun.
Where you living here a few years back when there was a 30-40 car collision on that thing from the fog?
Thank God I had no reason to cross the lake that day.

Built my house here back in 1993 I think, there was one stoplight between the end of the causeway and my house, now there are seven. I was in Vegas for a trade show but the president of the company I worked for was in that pileup. Funny thing was several causeway patrol officers ran into the pile also!

I am lucky to live and work on the northshore. I date someone that lives and works in NOLA so my causeway trips are weekend only usually. I do make the regular trip to NOLA airport.

We lost power but have a back up generator. Temps are rising and the snow is sleet now.
