As of 4:45 this morning, many schools had not cancelled yet due to being out of calamity days. Maybe you shouldn't have cancelled on that friday before the holidays where no snow arrived before 6 pm, or last wednesday.

Not directed at you...I like how parents are pissed when we don't have school because they-gasp!-have to take care of them. You seem to be the opposite, which is commendable to say the least.I used to have this really weird thing I'd do when my child was in school. If I thought the weather was bad or dangerous, I'd decide if there was school that day.
