Sure hope somebody is keeping my driveway shoveled while I winter down here.

VERY DESTRUCTIVE winds withgusts up to 290 km/hr are expected to develop between Cairns and Ingham duringthe evening as the cyclone approaches and crosses the coast. These VERYDESTRUCTIVE winds will also occur on the seaward side of hills to the north ofthe cyclone and also affect the Atherton Tablelands. After so many months of flooding, rain of that magnitude will be disasterous. And unlike here, it seems if it swims or crawls or slithers in Australia, it is deadly. 290 km is about 180 mph. That means "goodbye" to most wood frame structures. I feel sorry for those poor bastards.
