My GF's pipes froze also. She discovered this as she was preparing to take a shower.
Funny up here on the frigid great white north my pipes did not freeze.
This is the first time I have seen ice on my pool. That is partially due to it not being active this year but it has not been this cold for this long since I have lived here.
How do you tell a buckeye in LA. He is the guy with shorts, a t-shirt, hiking boots and gloves. I get some funny looks.

70 degrees again here in the desert but it was a little nippy this morning, I think it may have dipped into the upper 40's.

got a chance to break the record low temp for Jan 9 down here.
sitting at about 27 right now (and falling), record is 23. don't know if it will drop fast enough to get there before midnight.
this is probably the longest stretch of days/night where we mid 30s or below that I can remember. We've a low of 34 or less everyday since last Saturday. and projected to continue for another couple of days.
back in late 80s we had a cold snap last maybe a week, other than that, this is pretty rare for us.
