How many Big East teams make the Sweet 16?

after 2007 game, retards declared that future Ohio State teams shouldn't be invited to the NCG because of what the 06 and 07 teams did there.

Terrell Pryor and Devier Posey shouldn't be allowed in the 2011 NC game because of what Ohio State did when they were in high school.

that isn't stupid to you?
2011? Sure.

2008? That depends.

It's certainly not stupid to question whether the 07 Buckeyes were deserving of a 1 seed, like I was doing with Pitt.

It also raises doubts about whether OSU should be a shoe-in to the 08 NC game after the last two performances. Beating USC on the other hand...

You know, I still can't figure out why you always want to make posts out to be more than they really are. First the "relax" like the dude is spazing out, now I'm crying/whining about the selection committee favoring the BE...

You may not be beating the drum for the BE, but you certainly don't come off sounding very reasonable either. Any way you want to slice it, 11 teams to the tourney seems like quite a large (eyebrow raising) number compared to everyone else, even if they do have 16 teams.
11 teams is a large number.....show me where I said that it wasn't. but if you look at the seeds, it's not like all 11 were expected to make it very far. hell......2 of them were set up to not win a game.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the Big East. None of the teams were great. The conference was very, very good though. They have the depth that no other conference had (probably because they have 18 teams in the conference). I thought the best team was Notre Dame and they still have the chance to make an impact in the tournament. UConn is obviously pretty good.

I'm not really sure about either Marquette or Syracuse. Marquette played great in the first meeting and Syracuse didn't play well at all. I don't think that will happen again.

Anyways,

11/64= .1718785

.171875*16= 2.75

If the Big East gets 3 teams in the sweet sixteen, then they are doing average.

Well I can't agree with that logic. 06 and 07 Ohio State's performances in title games (which I agree with you.....07 OSU had no business being there) should have absolutely no bearing at all on 08's chances of getting there. That's all I was saying when I replied to your comment about Pitt. They lose early every year and I laugh at them every year, but it doesn't make me a BE homer to disagree with a statement that says they souldn't get high rankings based off previous results.

So you're arguing one should expect the big east to not make it very far? :p

There's no way to spin 1 vs 8, 4 vs 13 & 6 vs 11. Those are bad losses.

People aren't bagging on the big east because WVU advanced then lost a pick-em game to UK, or because Marquette won't make it to the finals.

It's possible that the big east gets 2 out of 11 teams into the sweet 16, and 1 of those 2 is because the tourney was set up for a big east vs big east play in game.

Not only that but how does a team that hasn't won in almost a month get a 6 seed to begin with? I know they are not supposed to weight one part of the season more than the others but that raises some big eyebrows.

To be fair, that's only if you look at every other conference - and every other year.

I would appreciate it if the people on this board would avoid using the word "retard". It could be offensive to some.

Losers: Pitt, Nova, WVU, UL, G'town, St. John's

Playing each other: Cincy-UConn & Marq-Cuse

Possible: ND

So at this point the correct answer is either 2 or 3 of the 11 BEast teams will make the S16. Shockingly low for that many teams, especially since most of them had seeds that made it workable to make the S16.

But, that's the point. The NCAA tourney gives automatic invites to some very minor conferences. Conferences like the Big East and Big Ten, shouldn't be measured against an average that includes automatic bid winners with power rankings in the 300s.

The Big East receives way too much respect. They should have had no more than 8 invites, IMHO.

Ok, I've lost track of all the words I'm not supposed to use anymore.

What the fuck is the H word?

Have hairy people made strides in their struggle I am unaware of?
