How many Big East teams make the Sweet 16?

5 of them were a 4 seed or better. relax.

Not quite sure I see where he's going "ZOMG!!!11!!1 Only 2 or 3 teamz are gonna make it!!1!!

It is rather surprising that only 2 or 3 out of 11 are going to make the sweet 16. I know I find it a little odd considering how weighted towards them it seemed.

I think BuckeyeNation (Syracuse fan, right?) forgot he was an OSU fan for a second..
this is why i spent a couple minutes trying to decipher his response to josh. i wasn't sure if i was actually seeing a buckeye mod who was so butthurt about someone taking a shot at pitt (not his treasured syracuse team) that he chose to insult ohio state football, which would be completely irrelevant and unwarranted.

Hell, UConn might have been sent home tonight too if they didn't get to play another overrated Big East team.

and Syracuse plays Marquette tomorrow to ensure at least 2 BE teams make it.

I was willing to chalk last years opening weekend debacle up to random variance. Two years in a row starts to look an awful lot like a trend.

Does previous post season play have any bearing on future seeding/bowl games? If you replace Pitt with OSU and change the topic to football, you get "Ohio State shouldn't be allowed in the championship game....all they do is lose".
OSU shouldn't have been invited to the 07 NC game. They would have been beaten soundly by half of the Tressel squads. There just wasn't anyone worthy that season, so two very flawed teams got in.

OSU shouldn't have been invited to the 08 USC game after that USC performance. They weren't close after that and deservedly so.

The only unfair characterization is the revisionist history in 06, where folks pretended like there was grounds for doubting them in Mid December, 1 B.S.E.C.

it wasn't weighted towards them at all. the 5 BE teams that were ranked as a 4 seed or higher absolutely earned those seeds. you can cry about 11 teams making it to the field, but only 5 were set up to go farther than the weekend.

and since everybody wants to assume I'm banging the BE drum, I have to come out and tell you that I'm not. I'm taking the same stance I do against the SEC retards who think conference affiliation means something. the BE didn't lose to morehead state....louisville did. pitt lost as a 1 seed, not the BE. I don't give 2 shits about any team in the BE aside from Syracuse....least of all pitt or louisville.

after 2007 game, retards declared that future Ohio State teams shouldn't be invited to the NCG because of what the 06 and 07 teams did there.

Terrell Pryor and Devier Posey shouldn't be allowed in the 2011 NC game because of what Ohio State did when they were in high school.

that isn't stupid to you?

If only the criticism had been "pitt lost as a 1 seed"

How many times does Pitt have to choke away a top seed in the early rounds before they stop rewarding them with these cushy starts?
Replace Pitt basketball with OSU football

You know, I still can't figure out why you always want to make posts out to be more than they really are. First the "relax" like the dude is spazing out, now I'm crying/whining about the selection committee favoring the BE...

You may not be beating the drum for the BE, but you certainly don't come off sounding very reasonable either. Any way you want to slice it, 11 teams to the tourney seems like quite a large (eyebrow raising) number compared to everyone else, even if they do have 16 teams.
