How does work make you feel today?

So I did our taxes last Friday, my wife looks at the mail yesterday and there's a W-2 from 2 employers ago for $19 taxable income. I guess she worked one day there the last week of December/first week of January 2015. Wonderful.

Not worth amending.

Getting laid off on Friday. 400+ jobs including supervisors, managers, and 1 director. I don't even care. I get 10 weeks severance + 2 more weeks of paid vacation. I also get my bonus and other small perks. Going to take a trip for a few weeks then go back to job hunting again. These past 2 years have been weird for me but not even stressed about it. I may go to Florida to golf some, then go to Montana to visit Glacier National Park. 0 fucks given.

Not for them!
I had the pleasure of telling a client that she was getting penalized for not having health insurance. Of course, we told her last year she needed it, and she went on some rant about Obama and not wanting the government to force her to buy insurance. Pretty sure I rolled my eyes and she caught me.

Friday is my last day with my current company. Can't afford the water bill anymore. Every time I deal with the SVP in our group I feel like I need to take a shower.

Example: When I resigned he asked me where I was going. I refused to say other than to say that it was to a competitor. He later came to me with a list of companies stating that if it was any on that list we have a problem due to non-poaching arrangements in our contracts. He was going to attempt to block me from leaving.

Anyhow, I reminded him that he, in fact, poached me from my previous company (who happens to be on the list) and that should it come to it, I was sure that there would be little sympathy for his position considering that he engaged in poaching in the first place.

Meanwhile, my friends who own contracts and master agreements with a few of the companies on the list all verified that no "non-poaching" clauses existed... and my employment was, as in my initial agreement, "at will."

I knew when I took the job that there was a chance this guy was going to be a piece of work. He was way worse than my worst dream. Second worst manager I've ever had the displeasure of working for.

I don't think I've been caught rolling my eyes, although this is the second time I've gotten testy with a client this week. The other one had me ready to explode -- the fundamental lack of understanding of taxes (while thinking they know EVERYTHING) is just absurd.

But the one that really gets me is the anti-Obama/Obamacare rant while they are there to claim their $8,000 "refund" due to the EITC and Child Tax Credit -- all while having a family of five all covered by Medicaid.
