I kept saying to myself after the show was over, "Why didn't Hiro lop the fucker's head off?"

No chance of Sylar returning if he does.

Eh, it's not like Hiro has shown he's comfortable taking a life yet. A couple hours in Sulu's dojo isn't going to turn him into a killer. Hell, it's safe to say he's not even comfortable with slapping someone much less stabbing them at this point. Expecting him to pull a Mortal Kombat finishing move is like expecting me to not go back for seconds at the sundae bar. It ain't gonna happen.

Why didn't Peter fly away on his own?

That one has been explained pretty well on this thread.

Why didn't Sylar just launch Niki/Jessica like he has everyone else?

She did just give him a superpowered crack with a parking meter. One would assume he would be a bit out of sorts after that. I'd say the more appropriate question would be how did she not kill him or at least cripple him with that blow. That's one question I have no answer for.

Why didn't he just kill Bennet, Parkman and Mohinder when he could have?

He's a moronic sociopath with a huge ego. He's shown he likes to be more and more dramatic when he's whacking folks as his killings have progressed and has no fear that he would be harmed. It led to poor decisions, and this was one of them.

Where the hell is the Haitian?

That's actually a valid question. Maybe he's the evil dude Molly referred to. Maybe he was high. Maybe his contract with the studio expired. Frankly, I have no idea.

We don't actually know all of the powers that Sylar has yet. He must have some powers that allow him to survive when hit by Niki and stabbed by Hiro. Peter took a shot from the parking meter and seemed ok. I wasn't happy with the finale, but I'm still looking forward to next season. I was hoping that this was the beginning of a League of Superheros or something like that. I'm sure Peter and Sylar will battle again in the future and it will be more like what we saw at the end of the future episode. Now that Peter should have Niki's super strength and all of Sylar's powers he should be unstoppable when he puts it all together.

This was some of the funniest shit I have ever read on BP. :slappy: Thanks Stoo.

Does he have all Sylars powers? Or did he just get Sylars power to recognize that people have super powers? But he would've had that same power a while ago when he stopped Sylar from killing Claire. Peter has sooo many powers that he doesn't even know yet. Peter's mother has some sort of power I am sure, the dying man Peter was taking care had powers I am sure, we saw Peter use telekinesis on the rooftop, where'd he get that one from? It's apparent that he doesn't have to actually see the power being used, so he could just walk by someone and gain there power. He was around Mollie too, so he has the ability to find everyone now as well.

I figured he got the telekinesis from Sylar in their first meeting. it will probably take him a lifetime to figure out everything he can do.

Yeah, I was thinking that earlier in the season, when Sylar and Peter first encountered I was wondering how he would react to that.

The list of powers to which Peter has been exposed, but has not yet exhibited.

I am still not convinced he can get Sylars powers, because that isn't really Sylars power....if that makes any sense.
Clarifying- if Sylar is using one of the powers he has acquired, in Peter's presence, then Peter can certainly acquire said power, example telekinesis.
If Sylar has acquired a power but is not using the same in Peter's presence we don't know if he can acquire said power.

However, Peter can acquire powers from others without those powers being explicitly exhibited - example Ted Sprague, radioactivity.

No evidence of this at all. Telekinesis could be from anyone else. More than one person can have the same power. I say he can't learn Sylars powers that he has stolen.

Damn talk about no evidence.

FWIW Joe Polaski (writer) has stated that Peter was able to absorb all of Sylar's powers.

I would love to see that quote as well.

It was during a panel at the Wizard's World Convention on March 17th of this year...

I can't find the exact text but it is mentioned briefly HERE

(Sixth Paragraph)

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]Another attendee asked if Peter Petrelli could absorb all of the powers that Sylar currently possesses, and Pokaski responded with a resounding yes.
