Eh brah, I think you need to lay off the Honu and drink some good beer (Widmer).
The ones I got were medium dark green...

Those are the "counterfeit" ones they sell to the public I guess! The REAL MCCOY BUCKEYE LEAVES ARE BLACK! If you say they are green then that's like saying the stripe on the Helmets is GREEN WHITE and RED instead of BLACK WHITE and RED!
I think you need to drink MORE beer! Here is photo of my helmet I just took...BEERS ARE ON YOUR TAB BROTHER! THEY'RE BLACK!

That would be a WOLVERINE BABY! I traded with Tyrone Wheatley at the Hula Bowl. And YES, I view it as a token for beating their asses 22-6 that year and breaking "the curse"/drought we had vs Michigan.

I cracked my helmet during my freshman season. Although that was from dropping it on the lockerroom floor.:tongue2:
All of the guys on the would always talk about how many scratches they had. Relating to all of hits they either took or delivered during the season.
But none of them had a crack.

BUCKEYE LEAVES have changed too!
I noticed a few years ago that the leaves had been reversed (like a photo negative) from when I remember them. The ones that they sold in the store were always "backwards" and you could tell the difference b/t the LEGITIMATE ones we got to the "fake" ones in the stores.
But now the ones the team uses are just like the ones in the store. Our leaves had a stem that curved to the RIGHT and a lower left blade that was more solid black, while the stores carried the green ones and some black ones that were opposite (stem curved to LEFT and lower right blade that was more solid). The current team also uses these now.
