Hey, Scott, they look pretty green to me here:
and here:
and here:
I noticed a few years ago that the leaves had been reversed (like a photo negative) from when I remember them. The ones that they sold in the store were always "backwards" and you could tell the difference b/t the LEGITIMATE ones we got to the "fake" ones in the stores.
But now the ones the team uses are just like the ones in the store. Our leaves had a stem that curved to the RIGHT and a lower left blade that was more solid black, while the stores carried the green ones and some black ones that were opposite (stem curved to LEFT and lower right blade that was more solid). The current team also uses these now.
See the difference below

THOSE ARE BLACK. You guys are color blind and your monitors are most likely not calibrated either! GREEN is found NOWHERE in the color scheme of Ohio State. So tell me, would it make sense to make the Buckeye Leaves green and NOT BLACK, which they are? Forget that green is consistent with Buckeye Leaves in nature/reality. I don't see ANY green in the above photo with Archie...you guys are seriously thinking of the SEVEN LEAFERS IMO!
HAYN
SHOW ME THE "green" in these Buckeye Leaves please!
Archie's looks green.
Hey HAYN, I think they give the punters "special" leaves.:tongue2:
Just kidding. It looks like they have changed them quite often.
Showing you before didn't convince you and this will not either, BUT THEY ARE BLACK! CERVEZAS ON YOU!

The youth football team I coach, and have coached for 4 years now, is called Ohio State. Three years ago, I ordered 600 buckeye leaves that we could reward the players with, during the season. Those leaves were most definitely green.
Last year, we knew that we would need more buckeye leaves, so I ordered another batch of 600 from the same vendor, and when they arrived they were black; not really dark green but black.
That settles it!!!
No beers for either of you!
I always thought that the teams were black, and the public sales were green.. only because the ones were i worked, yes for all two weeks, were green and i always thought the teams were blackTHey are definately green. Got mine from a friend who's a trainer for the OSU Football team.
