LOL! Typical marketing ploy to get you to buy it. I bet you bought them at CONRAD'S TOO! DEFINITELY NOT OFFICIAL! They are DEFINITELY GREEN! You want the "official" ones look here (BELOW; photo and link)! As JWinslow pointed out they are REVERSED from the ones in the photos I posted. These are "official" as they get. I know for a fact that this is how they come from the manufacturer. I still have two 'sets' exactly like this that the Equipment Mgr gave me to trade with other players from different teams at the '95 Hula Bowl (only "cheapo green" available in stores at this time). Except mine are REVERSED from these and the ones the team is currently using as pointed out by JWinslow. Now the "cheapo green" ones also are available like this (in 10) but they are not made of the same materials (not shiny) and they are GREEN instead of BLACK!

Well, the one you have on your stearing wheel is NOT OFFICIAL as it is DEFINITELY GREEN and doesn't seem to have the extra protective layer that makes them "shine" like in the photo I posted and linked. I know that for a FACT that those vinyl greenies are NOT official!

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Anyone (yeah, you Scott) who thinks that the sticker on Hawk's helmet per jwin's attachment is any other color than green needs to make an immediate appointment with their optometrist.

Brah, they make look dark green but when you see them in person you'll say "BLACK"! Just like you said, whe you saw the ones from my helmet. Go ahead order them from hangonsloopy! Bring em to our next beer drinking session and we'll hold a survey with patrons as to what color they are. LOSER pays the bill!

Everyone has different colors on their monitors etc unless they have it correctly calibrated. Not to mention the photo itself is probably not "color corrected" and not professionally done. I am willing to bet the Histogram is wacked on that photo too, hence you're getting lesser values for Black in your 'hypothetical test'. Like I told Mili, when you see them in person, they are BLACK! IN FACT Mili even said they were BLACK when I showed him one (the ones from my game helmet!). The "cheapo greenies" like buckeyenation27 posted are DEFINITELY GREEN! These are Black. Do that same thing you just did with these photos and tell me what you get...IT SURE THE HELL ISN'T GREEN!

someone needs to call the equipment office and ask what color the current buckeye leaves are. otherwise, we will have to wait until texas to find out (no buckeyes on the helmets for niu) scott, it is very possible that in the twelve years since you played they have changed. i don't know this for a fact but i'm just saying it's possible.

I already have an e-mail in to Rob Lachey, the head equipment manager.

I'll let you know when and if I get a response.

BTW, this is the gayest thread ever.

It absolutely has the protective layer. It's not an actual sticker that you give to little kids, it's like a button with a glossy coat over it. Sorry HAYN, these are official, from the official team shop.....and they're green.
